If Dilithium was added, would you be alright if it was just for first play through only? How much is enough? For what exactly is it needed for that dailies, events and doffing can't already provide for (to meet the daily cap)?

The point is some people hate doing the same things over and over again. It's nothing to do with whether or not we can get the refinement cap, it's how we do so.

I'd rather do 20 different level-adjusted Storyline PvE missions per day than the same 10-12 daily missions per day, any day, of any week, of any month.

Since Dilithium has become THE Major Currency of the game...,

It should be tied to ALL ACTIVITIES IN the Game, even if it's just 10 to 100 units for each activity.

There should especially be a few units given to starting players in the Tutorial, so that they get a taste of things to come.

Giving out 10 to 100 units for each in-game activity is not going to break-the-bank.

Cryptic is just delaying the inevitable with Their current tactics, eventually people are going to have mounds of Dilithium built up with their toons...

It might take a few months, but it is going to happen.

By putting in more ways to collect it, even in small amounts, people will be more likely to spend rather than hoard, because they won't feel like it so G-D hard to get.

And the more Free-Range DIlithium that is out there, will entice more people to be willing to exchange it for C-Points as well.

And one thing more...,

Cryptic already has Two Ways to control the Dilithium Economy anyway...,

1) The 8000 Unit cap - per toon/per day.

and

2) An Iron-Grip on the Amounts that Dilithium and C-Points can be traded for.

There is no way, with these TWO Enforcement Techniques, that the economy could ever run rampant because the players have more optional ways to collect dilithium.

One problem, and it's a show-stopper.

The more enjoyable (non-repetitive0 Dilithium gathering becomes, the less likely a person is to take the C-Point/Dilithium Exchange shortcut to avoid it. The Bean-Counters will never sign off on it.

Why?

People will still have to use C-Points to buy stuff in the store...,

And Somebody has to BUY them, in order to make them available in the Exchange...

C-Points bought on the Exchange, will eventually be be used up buying stuff from the Store.
(and the C-Store's Assorted Inventory is just going to increase from now on.)

This is THE CYCLE Cryptic/PWI wants to Encourage, not Discourage...

As it will mean more Money in Their Coffers.

I don't really believe that the LTS Stipends are going to make all that much of a difference in the long term...

The folks that Sub Monthly and the F2P'ers will eventually out number the LTS'ers (If they don't already) and they will be paying cash each month that they sub, so their stipend will be off-set as well.

Many F2P'ers will be spending Money for C-Points as well, as the Dilithium Exchanges' Ups & Downs, will seem a bit disadvantageous and even down-right intimidating at times to the uninitiated.

And at other times, it will just be more advantageous (cheaper) to buy C-Points outright.

Dilithium is eventually going to become stockpiled in this game either way...

As I said, having it seem like it is easy to get, will encourage folks to spend it more often.

I foresee one huge problem with adding dilithium to story missions. The KDF has a far fewer missions than Fed side. Federation characters would be able to accumulated dil in greater amounts. If they skew it so KDF missions grant a proportionally higher amount of dil per mission (completing all KDF story missions would provide an equal amount of dil to completing all Fed story missions) than KDF characters could accumulate larger quantities of dil at a substantially faster rate.

Adding dil to the Featured Series episodes would be the only fair solution, being that they're faction neutral. However when playing the FE in the story line progression suddenly getting dil for a specific story arcs would feel out of place.

What they need to do is add more daily content for all levels across the entire game.
