Last night I started to respec my character in the wake of the skill tree reset. Quick question:

How many points need to be spent to move from one column of skills to the next? I've put a decent number of points into the far left column already, and the column immediately to its right is still not open for use.

Any ideas/tips?

I'm sure someone out there knows the exact points.. but why not do this.....

clear all your points.. keep adding points to the first column until the 2nd column becomes available to put points into.. keep repeating the process until you have spent all your points while concurrently keeping track of the min points needed per skill tier.
