Agreed. Although I would hate removing TSS from my builds. A lot of the reason I tried BoPs was to be able to finally use TSS3. Plus, my builds are based on shield heals & resists (which leaves my defiants & raptors vulnerable to the both recently buffed FBP & pengs because I carry PH instead of HE on them now to combat all the tractor use nowadays).

I recently moved to using two tac teams on my bops just like my defiants & raptor, instead of just one like before (realized I needed consistent shield balancing more than science team). It's definitely possible that tac team could work in conjunction with TSS to refill the non-facing shields more rapidly...

I agree and since I PuG mainly I have no plans of changing my build until I'm certain its a truelly busted power.

Its an idea or at least a place to start looking, if I was a Dev.

On a related note... I had someone use feedback pulse on me last night. Holy crap that thing is deadly now. It bypassed my shields and went straight into the hull. Just another sci power to look out for now.

And yet I saw it used twice on my Tac/BoP in Ker'rat and it was just an annoying tickle.....thus pointing to something more than just an OP power possibly?

I'm suspecting that some interaction with the skill tree is making it far more powerful than it should be. Probably depends on who is using it and how they are specced.

Which could lead to the question, Is it just an example of the power of a specialized build that is skilled to a definate purpose in combat, (DPS, Shield Stripping, CC-Stun, etc) or the byproduct of a skill working better than intended?

I'll put it this way... before last night I never saw any effective build using feedback pulse.

Apparently with all the new skills it is possible to build a ship that kills through bypassing shields completely and doing the majority of damage straight to the hull.

Pengs, plasma beams, feedback pulse, DEM, etc. have all become quite viable under the new tree.

Congrats, your one step closer to the extinction of Klingon players! One day, you will be able to sit back and tell your children stories of how hard it was to kill klinks until finally your cries were heard and the powers that be nerfed the klinks right out of existance. Of course, your children might blame you for the snoozefest that FvF will be in their timeline, but you can rest easy knowing the heartache you saved them from having two or even THREE bops uncloak right on top of them.

So, let's figure out step two. Perhaps we can talk cryptic out of cloaking ships? Or maybe take some hull and turn rate from bops and raptors? Actually, carriers SHOULD be removed all together, except of course for the carrier the Feds deserve!

Honestly the carriers do need to go. There's no support for carriers anywhere in Trek canon. Why? Because with the power and accuracy the large ships have it's easy to swat fighters like flies. Trek is supposed to be about big ship combat, not capital ships sitting at range belching fighters. The smallest combat ships out there should really be the Defiant and BoPs.
