That would be nice and an acual reason for some people to fly cruisers instead of escorts.

One thing you can try is to send the recruitment pack to an alt, unpack it there, see what doffs you get and then send any doff back that you can use on your main...
Could be faster if you have a trusted friend who has room in his roster. You could pay him with any surplus doffs you don't need for teh service.

The reality vs. balance train went around the loop a lot during testing, and I'm glad it stopped where it did.

Cruisers already have enough advantages to get people to play them. There's a reason they're the most popular class.

But this wouldn't just be an advantage. Just forgoing your active roster is a tangible advantage in doff progression. When the split colonists and prisoners out of the active roster, that was an immense advantage - you used to have to hamstring yourself to get anywhere in colonization and prisoners were something you dumped ASAP. The difference of hundreds of doffs, though?

And while you're talking about how it's odd... how about having 20 away teams out from a ship with only two shuttles? Or from one with fifty? Or ships that can't carry shuttles large enough for five people. These are also part of the problem you call up when you talk about actual ship capacity.

Since there is a 20 Mission Limit, and not more than 5 DOFF's per, I think the 100 Limit is pretty close to what it should be. Now, whether or not one may have the exact DOFF units to do 20 missions at the same time is another issue.

Perhaps if there was a Static Hold Page the same as BOF"s that have not been assigned to active duty yet.....Then when one of those is needed for a job, they could be switched in and out with another that can not do that job?

100 limit in the doff system or limits to boffs. Applies to nothing else other than the system they are active in, your inventory, bank, exchange and even your mail inbox can hold many more if you want.

Not much point though and I think 50 is enough, more than covers 20 assignments. Maybe they plan on increasing assignment number in rewards, ranking or something but right now 100 simply creates many duplicates or twins as we have been calling them.

50 definitely doesn't cover 20 assignments. I currently have over 60 on assignment, 10 in my active roster, and 17 in sickbay. Also, with 100 doffs, 20 colonists, and 2 prisoners, my only duplicates are four vulcan colonists named Silek.

My ship has a crew compliment of 50 and it says I have 26/100 duty officers. Someone explain that one to me. :p

There simply needs to be a "pool" of DOFFs & BOFFs that haven't yet been put on active duty or on reserve. Call it "applicants" or something.

I'm ABSOLUTELY TIRED of having to NOT COLLECT MISSIONS just because my queue of unused DOFFs or BOFFs is 'full.' Cryptic just needs to get their $h!+ together and get it done. I shouldn't have to not get my experience or other rewards just because there's an ARBITRARY, ARTIFICIAL LIMIT on the number of BOFFs or DOFFs I can have.

Maybe make it a "feature" for subscribers and lifers after F2P goes live in January? "Subscribers": unlimited applicant pool for BOFFs & DOFFs; "Free to Play": limited applicant pool for BOFFs & DOFFs. Of course, I'm a lifer, so I *would* have to suggest that. Better would simply be making it unlimited for everyone, so it's just not a "headache" anymore.

Honestly, what's the difference between having 10 crewmen sitting in "uncollected missions" versus sitting in an "uncollected applicants pool"? Just give us the unlimited pool and let us collect our missions/reward/XP!

Sorry for such a strong feeling on this, but I assume it's shared by some of the other commenters here. It's silly to have to delete DOFFs without knowing what DOFFs will replace them. I'd never do it in a real life 'job,' firing someone before knowing the person I'm replacing them with is qualified to replace them. It's silly to have to flip a coin on who to delete and then HOPE that the person you get to replace them will be even remotely related to the one you just deleted. If there was a pool of "officer candidates" or "applicants," it would no longer be an irritatingly unknown quality. You could simply delete one and add someone from the existing "known" pool.
