B) It has 4, yes 4 Engineering console slots -> on par with a Cruiser [No escort has this]

C) Considerably better turn rate than any of the ingame escorts and the ones offered in the cstore

That is why this ship is highly sought after, aside from the looks and the cool factor.

I spent like 50 US dollars worth on cpoints for a chance to get one, and like many here I did not receive one. I have no problem with the random/chance concept. I do have a problem with items like 1hr skill bonus that a VA has no use for, or multiple copies of pets.It would have been nice if Cryptic included a chance to receive Encryptic data chips, elite prototype Borg salvage parts, or borg salvage parts.

In all honesty, Cryptic should have at least given the odds for obtaining one of these vessels.

Reading many of the posts here, some folks have jested on this subject, even to the point of openingly laughing and calling folks who attempted to get one a fool & an Idiot. I want to say that I spoke with a player who actually received this Jem Hedar Attack Fighter, has close connections with several individuals from Cryptic (and when I mean close, I mean close), he is part of a well known fleet - I will say no more for the sake of protecting his name.

What was stated was this: It was commented that a system should be in placed when players spend up to 5k of cpoints, they should automatically receive the ship. This to me acknowledges the fact that some folks over at Cryptic are realizing that the odds are way off, it was even noted that it is possible that it is around or near 1 in 500 chances.

The individual that I spoke to also stated that in truth, it is NOT worth spending real money on the item at the cstore, and if you choose to do so, they should spend no more than 2k c points. I tend to agree.

2k cpoints bundle on average cost around 65 US dollars. I too recommend the 2K limit.

These types of play to win random gambles is quite evil from Cryptic, though they are within their rights to promote such event. It just would have been decent of them to actually point out the odds of winning.
I like this. it's seams fair. level headed and insightful ^_^

I don't know, I think posting the odds would have created just as much trouble, because even if they said "the odds are 1 in 500" or something you'd have people screaming that they bought 700 gift boxes and didn't get one, so clearly the odds are broken, not really understanding that *each box* only has a 1 in 500 chance of winning.

I thought Cryptic made it pretty clear they intended the ships to be quite rare, and am actually hoping they stick to that, but on the other hand I got one of them so I may be biased.

I feel for all the people dropping loads of money and not getting one. I spent my stipend and didn't have any luck. Ordered the small pack of store credits on Friday and got one in the second box I purchased with them, so I was hugely lucky.

The one thing I do agree is lame about the process is how much the process is skewed in favor of buying versus winning a gift box. If I understand right, the Jem'Hadar ship only comes in the red gift boxes. I ran the race at least ten times and only ever got green boxes. I bought something like ten boxes in all (4 with my stipend and 6 with the points bundle) and every single one I purchased was red.

I lucked out getting it in the 6th box overall, and second box I paid for, but I thought it was pretty lame that in all the times I won the race I never even saw a red box which would give a CHANCE of having the ship.

Merry *cough* "rip off" Christmas from STO. I purchased enough of them to feel like I stepped into the proverbial bag of flaming poo!

Well-said.

I hate that it needs to be said, but most folks don't have a very good understanding of statistics. It's that poor understanding on most humans' part that leads things like lotteries and places like Las Vegas to persist and thrive.

I just don't understand the point of all these posts where people are saying "I spent $$$$ on grab bags and didn't get the ship! I hate Cryptic and I'm quitting!" What's the point? Your wallet is louder than a forum post, and you already told Cryptic that you LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of overpowered game items being released in grab bags. You just gave them about as much money as TWO YEARS of a subscription game would cost. CLEARLY this is the better business model, and thanks to YOU, we're now going to have live with more of these things.

# 236 Multi character racing?

"I've got 5 characters and run Q's race each day and all I've had is green and blue parcels with craft gear (and lower level weapons) and 1 Pet. So thats 5 trys a day since it started, and the only "featured" reward I've had is an Exocomp... which I already own :p lol"

Hmmm.. What am I doing wrong? I can't seem to get any of my other toons to race?

You should be able to go to Q's winter park with any/all of your toons. Once there, each toon can win the race once per day.

They'll have to actually *complete* the race, but they can all do it.

Indeed. These same people, however, don't want to own up to this. Once personal responsibility returns to society, these grab bags with the chance of getting OP loot will stop *cold.*
