Klingon players must reach level 25 before they are eligible for the winter event race.
Added sounds and music to Q’s Winter Wonderland.

This restriction is ridiculous. Players have to grind out 3 levels just to earn the right to participate in holiday events? Sorry Brandon but we don't all agree. This move was uncalled for, this was meant to be a fun holiday event, NOT a grind. Who ever heard of a level restriction on a holiday event that's meant to be FUN?
Here's a better question. Was anyone complaining until TODAY?

The change was ill recieved becuase we KDF fans had no idea why the change came about.
Next time clarify as you state the changes and there may be less angst and conspiracy as to why teh change was needed.
Stating the change then waiting till the forums flare-up over said change before explaining the why of the change is why these flare-ups happen.

Whats unfair is denying us who have already leveled all of 16 levels from participating in the event.
The very least you could have done was to give a one time boost to existing characters so that they ended up at 25 if they werent there.
People were creating new toons, running the event, then deleting the toon.
So what? It's meant to be fun, it got players interested and playing TOGETHER. Besides, can't Feds just make an alt, skip the tutorial and head in to the event?

EXACTLY! I actually spent time working on my Klingon and leveled it from scratch. Yes I did get a level bump of exactly 1-3 levels depending on the Klingon but for the most part all the work was me. Now i have to grind out another 3 levels if I'm to have a shot at playing.

^^This.
The exploit was clearly violating the intent of the Race Challenge and Cryptic was within its rights to alter it to make it work as intended. OP should be mad at the greedy exploiters who made the change necessary.
No, they can't. You're only ~Lieutenant 3 (and that's with actually doing the tutorial).
Which again begs the question. WHY have a level restriction at all? I see NOTHING wrong w/ new players getting a chance to play the race instead of making them grind out levels.

It's already been stated: Players were created new characters, running the race, sending the prize to their main, deleting the character and doing it all over again.
It was an exploit, plain and simple, and had to be patched to prevent abuse.
