So right off the bat let me just say it was a bad idea from the get go. The new Jem'Hadar ship... I want one for christmas. So I opened the c-store and purchased a few boxes. The a few more and so I and so forth. All in vien, all for nothing. Well not nothing, I now hav an exo comp and a gekli, but beyond that, nothing. Stupid I know but it happened for reasons I'd rather not get into right now.
It's frustrating that there are people getting multiple ships and then turning around selling them on the exchange. Or that half the red boxes people are paying for turn out to be blue boxes. Why would you put a blue box in a red box unless to screw with people? What are the odds on people getting this ship, let alone getting more than one so they can auction it? Is there a set amount and thats why they wont give the drop rates? Or is it just plain blind luck like the prototype Borg gear? Just some probable 2% random chance that some one will actually get anything.
I don't know what's going on at the Cryptic offices, but the loot drops are just not worth it, and frankly I can see why so many people are leaving. I'll try to stay for a little longer, the last of any of my friends who play, but still, while I'm not a terribly smart person, I see that the company has stopped caring about the fans and has become just too shady with how they do business. Too many lies and broken promises and frankly I'm just disappointed, both in star trek online, but more so in myself for believing in it as long as I have.
Please, feel free to voice your opinions on things like the Jem'hadar ships and the poor drop rates for anything worth something to you in game. I'm curious to see if I'm the only one who has lost faith here.
well your not the only one, all your points seam to fit with my opinions, especially the ship bit, tho i was lucky enough to hear about the drop rates and didn't waste any points on it. that being said the ship is cool if your lucky. also i would like to mention that SWTOR does not have a store where you pay to win. and come launch i'll be in that game not STO
Welcome to the Club my Friend. I spend 180 euro = 18000 c points and get no ship, good that i stop now. Some Guys spend 300 and over 500 Dollar. But before i write my Comments over and over again.
Here all threats about this Thema, there are many here but Cryptic dont care:
I was lucky and got the ship after my second or third box. However, I have a feeling that this kind of treatment is going to be SOP for Cryptic and so come December 15th, I'm also done with STO.
cryptic's change in business and any broken promises don't bother me i play the game to have fun, and that's that. while i like the Jem'Hadar ship, i know not to gamble on a low chance. i'm content to wait till it's freely available
The lottery Bugship just drove a point home that has been repeatedly made since the F2P announcement.
500day Vet rewards, T3 nebuals, Dil Conversion, PvP and informing systems ...
"shady" is much nicer then what i think or want to say about them. I have not bought any tickets yet, but i might to spend my 400 stipend points.
I share the OPs sentiment about the foolishness of placing good faith into the company that is operating STO. I regret my support. I don't regret playing the game or making in-game friends. I simply was much too forgiving with the bad decisions made by cryptic, in hope that one day it ll all work out and there ll be a romulan faction... .... stupid i know
I'm just relived this wasn't turn into a "yeah you're stupid" thread lol but in all seriousness I like this game A) because I love star trek and B) because I've enjoyed playing it over the last two years. It's had more than its share of problems with bad decisions before, but now more than ever it just seems like things (especially for the devs end) that those bad decisions are intentional or that they've stopped caring about the players and the fans. My question is how much more abuse will it take before enough people write CBS and get the ip taken away?
