If this is really the way that any game developers look at forum posters than they are not looking at it right. You can't just assume that forum posters are a vocal minority and leave it at that. You should assume that for every forum poster there is 10% of the community that agrees with them. And for every forum poster that agrees with that forum poster there are 10% more of the community agreeing with them.
This is the way that Governors and Senators consider letters and email. They don't just write it off as a few vocal citizens. They assume that for every citizen that is writing them there are 100,000 more citizens that agree with the writer.
