# 1 Polarized Parabolic Deflector

I was looking and comparing items on deflectors and I noticed that there were a few things missing on this dish.

It use to have:

+75 Flight Speed resistance

+75 Flight Friction resistance

+75 Flight Turn Rate resistance

These buffs are no longer on the dish. I noticed that my Galaxy X is now less maneuverable. (I hadn't noticed at first because I was running stf's on another character.) Is this change suppose to be like this or is this something that will be corrected in the future.

Those wouldn't have made you more manoeuvrable, just give a little resistance to tractor beams and other movement debuffs. There was mention of some changes to the deflectors during the gear changes for the skill tree revamp but I can't remember what they put in place to make up for it, I do remember they added the +30% Kinetic Damage but last I checked that wasn't working so not much of a trade off.

I understand what you are saying but I check the numbers in the movement screen and my turn rate dropped a degree or two.

I don't know if the deflector works better or worse after the changes but it is my understanding that these 3 attributes you mentioned missing have been replaced by +34 Inertial Dampeners as they supposed to do the same thing (resistance to holds which is what the old values did as well). This is all speculation but it does make sense.

that's probably because of the skill changes.

in the past, there were multiple 'boost hull, turn rate, etc' skills that appiled to Cruisers, Escorts and Science Vessels. adding them up made a significant boost to a T5 ship with the proper skill spec

but now, there's only one skill that boosts turn rate, and while fully specced the boost is considerable, it's less than the previous systems... so that probably explains the slight loss in turn rate
