Yeah. I use the Theta, Bioneural, & aceton assimilator. Good times. For me, anyways.

ive just never recieved so many hate pm's after matches. i mean, i kill with regularity, pretty regardless of what im running. but people really hate on those kling consoles.

so i just decided to limit it to one cheese slice. i may change my mind tho, as its just, well...fun. id even go as far to say its more fun than a defiant. which is to date my favorite ship to fly.

It's Christmas time, people all in the world become more good! So be generous and give up forever these toy consoles! You don't need them to win...isn't it?

The hate will flip when new console comes out for the feds. The cries will sound the same though. Those whom hate it will say OP, those whom use it will say not OP. Those that are obviuosly broken will hopefully get fixed and those that are not will hopefully not get nerfed due to jealousy or rampant egoes.

I cut my gaming teeth on Original D&D in the mid-1970s and on tabletop wargaming (Steve Jackson's OGRE and GEV, also Napoleonic and Tractics battles), and those games really lent themselves to changing maps and tactics. Those factors led to a really, really rich world of scenarios in which opposing players actually collaborated to make the matches more even. One player, for example, might choose the point value of tanks each side could use an in OGRE match, while the other player selected the map to be used.

We don't have that sort of collaborative environment here in space PvP. With a relatively small PvP population and a relatively small and unchanging number of maps, the only way left to change things up is to alter the ships (e.g. tanks, units, monsters) themselves. We have, so far as I'm aware, no means to objectively value the attack and defense values of ships and consequently no means to ensure fairly matched battles.

Personally, I think that sharpening your tactics via battles in different terrain and with different objectives is the way to go -- but that's a lot easier to achieve on the ground than it is in space. And as an Army vet, I'm loath to give up the advantage of a superior weapon when I have it. I wouldn't expect an enemy to fight without making full use of his capabilities, so I see no reason to handicap myself.

Fed players will adapt. And when the pendulum swings the other way, KDF PvPers will have to do the same. Fifty years from now, no one will remember anyhow.

Unless, of course, someone wants to promulgate some sort of PvP ship standards and measurements.

I knew you wouldn't have accepted my request and I was joking as usual! None of the warriors renounces a considerable advantage on the battlefield.
We feds would only like that you klis accepted the simply truth, that these nasty toy consoles make you invincible. Here is not to adapt, but live with the death every time. There isn't any effective tactics or perfect teamwork capable to change the situation.
This time Cryptic has gone too far without giving the PVP serious consideration, indeed has killed the gameplay and now it's totally umbalanced.
You wrote "I'm loath to give up the advantage of a superior weapon when I have it" and so you have admitted the truth, but really the toy consoles are final weapons ensuring in advance the victory!

ha, im quoting myself.

i dont hide the fact that i have used multiple at once, and i wont deny the fact that it was fun neither.

just feel bad for the other guy. oh oh, and also while they are all on cooldown it pretty much sucks. but only i guess because it is so much fun when they aren't.

plus everytime you throw one out there you can see the tension level rise as feddies get all ****y and the klingons move in for the kill.

then i was AMS'd.

ah fuhghettaboutit.

Lets see here Feds spam SS, AMS bothof which are borked in various degrees. KDF can't get AMS and because of the SS mechanic we can't use it because you then can see all of our cloaked ships mainly BC equipped bops. Any ship that outfits their whole ship in P2W consoles isdoinitwrong because that ship is only effective every 60-120 seconds. Now if feds worked on their team play as well as the KDF and then were at a distinct disadvantage i would agree. Side note I only use one console at a time, and it depends on who I am against, a escort heavy team I use the graviton pulse on normal team loadouts I use the plasmonic leech. The plasmonic leech is only really viable when my borg TB is up.

What warrior -- if he was worth the name -- would give up an advantage?

If the situation were reversed, what would you do?

When has Cryptic ever given PvP its proper measure of consideration?

I don't think I've *admitted* anything, but go with that if it works for you.

Quite frankly, I think you'll get a more sympathetic response if you present your issue as a problem for both sides to address, not as a problem that only one side (not yours) has the responsibility to fix to the other side's satisfaction.
