I don't know if this has been posted before so here goes. With both the Empire Defense missions, the Fed and the Romulan ones, once I go blow up the 6 groups it does not count towards the total. Meaning the mission saying destroy 0/3 groups remains at 0/3 no matter how many times I complete the mission. Has anyone else had this problem?
Yep. This has been a bug for a while now. I've reported it multiple times but have only received replies basically saying that they will get to it when they can. I've been avoiding those missions ever since. They're not worth the XP for the time it takes to do them anyway.
Stick to Story missions whenever you can. Do Explores for the We Need Breathing Room in between. You'll level a lot faster.

Yeah I have had same problem. I believe the problem stems from a few issues. Before season 5 if you reached a certain rank the missions/empire defense no longer became available to you. The second thing is they were always bugged where you only had to do the mission once and not three times to get credit for the 3/3 to turn in. I think what has happened is they have tried to make it where you actually have to do all 3 and they have tried to make it where you can do these for dilithium as well at higher ranks up to LG as well. I would like as a suggestion that in these that some of npc ships like federation and romulan ones that they use c-store federation ships, and romulan ones be able to use scimitars for us to fight something we do not normally see elsewhere in the game. I figured its not too much to ask and somewhat doable.

Thanks everyone, good to know. I still do those missions as blasting feds and roms is fun. The fine folks at Cryptic will fix it when they can. In the mean time its a fun way to test my latest ship. Let the pew pews continue....
Do I read this correctly? This problem is continues despite patch notes recently that said otherwise?
That seems to be the case - I can blow up 1 set of fleets and get credit for it (1/3) but, thereafter, I don't even get the message that tells me to defeat another set of enemies. So I have Fed, Rom, and Cardie missions all at 1/3 and am unable to advance from there. Not even going to attempt the Borg ones since I have a pretty good idea of what will happen...
