So, you are basically asking Cryptic to give the small subset of their players who are serious enough gamers to play both Champions and STO the ability to use their stipend in both, thus decreasing their chances of buying more c-store points?

Good luck with that request.

Of course, in the past, Cryptic might actually have seen it as a chance to reward their most loyal customers and cross-promote their products. They are under new management.

Well, I tend to disagree. For one thing if I'm playing CO instead of STO, what difference does it make? Either way I'm using server resources.

Secondly, once I'm playing CO my stipend probably won't be enough, and I'll be inclined to spend some more money in the c-store. Plus with CO being a subscriber is actually worth it, so they might get another $15 out of me per month (would never think to waste money on an LTS).

The games are already owned by the same company, so building some sort of artificial accounting wall between them strikes me as being completely asinine. The cross promotion potential is much more valuable than any accounting problems.

However, I tend to agree that Cryptic's post PWE attitude seems to be more about screwing subscribers over as much as they can, and not actually doing anything to sweeten the deal, even if it would mean more cross promotion of their games. So, I'm sure this will not happen.

Guess what? I probably won't be playing much CO.

I personally think it would increase their chances of selling Cryptic points because in order for someone to buy something in the c-store they first have to be playing the game. Bringing someone to the game is probably 90% of the battle. If you don't play CO then you're obviously not going to spend a dime in its store.

Cryptics' chances to persuade anyone to play their games, any of their games, are decreasing as we speak since people are being allowed early access to another MMO from a company that has always been about story-telling and whose technology is proven across more games than Cryptic ever created.

A friendly reminder email from Cryptic that presents both C-Stores and reminds me that I have two stipends to spend and I can spend them in whichever C-Store I choose would be a lot more powerful and suggestive in bringing me back to look at my characters in either game.

After all, once both CO and STO are F2P, the only moneymaker is the C-Store in both games and while the value of a CO Lifetime is easily demonstrated, the value of a STO Lifetime is still clouded in mist.

Allowing mutual stipend spending will simply bolster the value of both Lifetime subscriptions which in turn should nudge players into buying either one or even both.

Not allowing mutual stipend spending simply bolster the opinion that Cryptic does not care for subscribers and probably feels their C-Store products aren't really that worthy of our time or money anyway.

In summation, allowing mutual stipend spending is a marketing trick that will work where tricks like the Jem'Hadar ship generate a large amount of contempt and ill-will.

I trust Cryptic will tell me in the future whether they want my money or not. I've told them how and that's all I can do really.
