Players are able to do daily foot races on an ice track, enjoy humorous snow men in unique Star Trek poses, and collect fun prizes.
I need to see the part of cool rewards yet. I only received so far green boxes, ocasionally one blue box. No red box at all. Ok. Not quite honest. I received five red boxes as compensation of economy converison. But on one there was a useless blue box, on another two, useless XP Boosts, and on another two, hortasb that I wasn't looking for. So the event is fun, but it lacks the "fun prizes".

Also, the idea of selling an item on C-Store where you aren't sure if you are going to get something worth, also isn't good. Smells gambling and it is non-trekkie. It is the type of thing I would expect to a facebook game, not a serious MMO.

The Jem-Hadar ship: I'm ok to it be ultra-rare. After all, it wouldn't make sense to see sector space filled with them. But the way it is awarded is bad. I imagine the starfleet command would give them just to the best of best capitains. Not give randomly, so a Lieutnant may receive it. So, put a high criteria to receive the ship: Only those who has completed all the accolades have acess to it, for example. Anything. Just don't give randomly. It isn't fair.

All this sounds each time more and more like Perfect World's games, and It is no secret that their games isn't wonderfully good. They don't know how to do a REAL good RPG. But Cryptics knows. They had proven this on year one. And if we take away the bad things on season 5, we will see that the game is great. So, Cryptic, please: If you are with the freedom that PW suposotely gave to you, then use it and make a Cryptic game, not a PW one. Sinceraly, hope you figure out this soon, so the game may get even better than it is now.

What the?!?

They are just now working on the FE? What?!? Those things were in development MONTHS AGO.

I would think by now the devs would be working through Featured Episode Series 5

Are we never going to get more than 2 FEs a year?

^THIS!!!^ My thinking exactly.

And if Cryptic does this with the Odyssey-class, I will be P-I-S-S-E-D .

Geez, what is this EP doing? He is either completely incompetent or is ....Nope i'm going with incompetent.

As for the grab bag, I thank all the stupid people that spent $$$$ on making it viable for the devs to shaft us at every oppertunity...

The new FE series being just worked on probably = we decided to junk most of what we did before so we can make it grindy and as little fun as possible.
Pretty much what the new stf's and the not so new ground invasion missions are...

They MUST have something to work with already, since I doubt Cryptic could develop the new series in a month and a half.

also, we've been waiting for the FE for most of a year already. A few more, whether they were playtested as Dan said, or just starting as D'Angelo says now, DOESN'T MATTER anymore.

as i see it, some of you are justified, but the majority of actions i've seen from the more 'emotional' are just plain spoiled and/or selfish. it wouldn't hurt to be more mature and patient, pushed over the edge or not

These.

I see some people who seem to make it out as the core complaints amounting to people spending money and being upset after dropping hundreds. Ive not dropped a dime and let me tell you I am still ticked off with the way this ship was implemented.

To cryptic if you want to put a rare skin into the game in a random gamble box go right ahead more power to you I don't care. But this is not a skin its a unique ship with unique capability's that in the right hands put it ahead of its class. If you want something like that to be rare fine I can go with that. But put it in game not behind some limited time random box but behind real challenging game content where people have a chance to earn it.

There is a reason most games give you the ability to earn the most powerful items through content instead of random lottery wins. It works its successful it gives players something to strive for this random box however takes away from it.

As for hundreds being happy with it? I doubt that seriously of the bug ships I have encountered so far in combat very few are satisfied with it namely those with the skill to actually use it properly. Others have seemed to be embarrassed or worse at how easily they are destroyed in the new shiny what do you expect these players did not have to develop the skill levels needed they opened a box and poof the best escort stat wise in the game was awarded.

All items of power in a game should always be reasonably obtainable based off player ability not blind luck. I understand PWE has experience in the Asian MMO market where this kind of random distribution seems to not only work but be a real draw. STO is not however an Asian MMO this is the western market please keep this in mind.

I remember a thread where people on the forums making the complaints where referenced as a vocal minority ignoring the representation of the community for a moment keep in mind one key word from that statement. Vocal because even if we are considered a minority we are of course very vocal and in any business especially the free to play market you should also know word of mouth counts for allot and to add some humor into the mix we have very loud mouths.

I bet no dev will reply to any of this. They haven't in the past. It's just really #%& frustrating.

They don't get it. And if they do, they haven't shown it.

So you're saying that:

A. The Current EP being so out of touch with what's going on he doesn't know an FE has already been in production doesn't matter?

B. An EP is pretending a FE that we've all actually seen parts of in broadcasts from STOked is "just starting" to be worked on doesn't matter?

C. The EP mis-wording his post and no one taking the time to clarify it doesn't matter?

So...A or B both are something that matters big time. C is something that matters at least a little too.

No matter what, the main topic that most have gravitated to in this thread does in fact matter.

I enjoy the game. And I'm looking forward to what's in store with the DOFF event, the other little christmas surprise and the new Featured series.

However, sometimes it would be great if issues where at least addressed by the Devs - especially the executive producer. Don't spin just everything in a good light when you know that quite a few people are upset, worried and frustrated.

A lot of people are worried about the addictive risks of the winter package - and the extremely thin chance to obtain one of the bug ships. STFs are good now, but the hunt for the MK XI / MK XII sets is nothing but a frustrating grind fest. Several smaller bugs that still exist should've been squished yesterday. Or the day before that. Or the day before that.
