Private Fleet Forums!

Earlier this week I teased that I would have some exciting changes on the forums this Friday, and now, I can tell you all about it!

The Star Trek Online community will be testing out Private Fleet Forums over the next couple of months. Right now, we are starting this “beta” program off by inviting six of the fleets on these forums to host their own forum here on the STO Forum page. These forums will only be able to be seen by members of their individual community, and will be moderated by their fleet’s leaders. The fleets are still required to follow the Cryptic Studios Forum Usage Guidelines, and failure to do so may lead to their removal from the program. If things go as swimmingly as I hope they will, then we will be opening this service to more fleets as time goes on, and hopefully one day be able to provide this service to all of our community’s fleets.

Yes, I've already selected the fleets for the beta.

Wow.

I have to admit, Crpytic is showing some love. I've never seen any game developer allow their forum members to have separate sections for their guilds/clans or fleets. Even though I'm not part of a fleet at this moment I think this is an outstanding idea.
