So far this is a good start. My build was already about a 75/25 split for space and ground to begin with and I am actually stronger in both areas after the Tribble respec. Here are a couple things I noticed that I'm sure will be fixed before it goes final. I appear to be nerfed in my primary and secondary fires. I previously had 7 points in Assault, Close Combat, Security, Soldier and Special Forces. My pulsewave could do 172 damage 137 DPS and a secondary fire of 286 damage and 31 DPS. Now on Tribble, I maxed out on Weapon Proficiency and Combat Specialist. Now I only do 160 damage 128 DPS and a secondary fire of 267 damage and 29 DPS which is less than when I was not maxed out. My buffs however appear to be stronger.

Also, what in the world happened to Tactical Intiative? On holo, TI sets the timer for all my Tac cooldowns to 0. Now on Tribble, TI reduces my recharges by only 0.23% when I have 8 points in Squad Command. Please change it back to how it is on Holo. Elite STFs are hard enough already, they will be even harder without being able to depend on the instant recharge.

I was just testing out the Driver Coil Skill on my KDF and when I go to full impulse all my power levels go to 104 except my engine power that goes to 100. I maxed out the skill. To any dev who wants to check it out the character in question is Selain@Body_Surfer and im gonna leave every thing the way it is.

Warp speed only goes up to warp 10 btw, that's what a .03 difference in warp speed.

Something else I'd like to add:

The number of skill points required at each tier should allow people to buy up at intervals of 3, 6 and 9. Let me explain:

At LtCdr I bought all the skill I wanted to have at 6 to 6 and all the ones I wanted at 3 to 3, (I even bought one of the ground skills to 9, and left the other alone). But then I had one measly point left over. If I train past 6, I'm getting diminishing returns, and if I spend on a 4, that's good and all, but still....

Just a thing I noticed. (I know I could go spend it at a lower tier...)

I'm trying to provide meaningful feedback, not just whining and saying "this sux, that sux..." To those who just want to vent, that's fine, but since it looks like a split of some form is here to stay, please leave the feedback thread for specific issues of feedback, rather that "I hate X" flames.

I don't think anyone's said "this sux" or "that sux" in this thread (apart form when I said the old skill UI "sucked"). We have been providing meaningful feedback. And if I've misunderstood what you meant there, I apologise.

I was wondering.
How many tries do we get for this on tribble? Is it a one shot deal ( 1 free respec) and then pay cold hard cash to get C-Points and try again or will we be able to really test the new skill tree with unlimited respecs.

And 3 rights dont make a left. Cryptic is showing blatantly that they dont really care about their current player base and only the new one coming in. I think the skill revamp itself is fantastic... but I dont like being told "put these points here, and only here" Theyre my fraking points, I earned them, let me use them how I see fit, for my character, and my playstyle...

Oh, and one more lol.

I seriously think there should be a second t"tree" for ground skills (either career or general). Why? If I wish under the science tree to increase my damage resistance (which I am happy to spend points on) that skill also increases threat generation. If I'm playing a healer/medic, I'd like to not get shot, and I dare say that the people I am healing would agree. A skill that increases threat, and a separate one that increases damage resistance would be great.

However, if the POINT is to give a negative for the positive, that rather eliminates the POINT of choosing the skill in the first place...

I very much like the simplified tree, but a tad bit more flexibility would be great.

Four rights make a left though. I do agree in that we should be allowed to spend the points we've earned how we like, but I think Cryptic is only trying to appeal to the main stream and I don't begrudge them that. But this skill point limit really is a case of something that wasn't broken being "fixed" or, more accurately, needlessly tinkered with.

This is terrible.

Why force people to spend points in ground when there are people who quite literally never do anything on Ground?

Across ALL of my toons, the only time I touch(ed) Ground was to level (and even then, I avoided it and did Space whenever possible) and then the STFs to get the retro Borg gear. Ground was quite feasible with 0 points in it. And that was with gear that was obsolete for my tier.

Space people are being forced to spec into ground for no reason at all.

The "making PvP more accessible" argument is a wash; the reason more people don't PvP is because we've gotten absolutely zero content. Those of us that are around now and that are trouncing through random people isn't because of we've min/maxed our builds, it's because we've stuck around, gotten experience, and use teamwork. People Kirk into matches with their P2W consoles and ships and expect to take on entire 5 man teams on their own.

Very few people have fully min/max'd builds. That's not the issue. Heck, I've got 6/9 in skills that I never even use, just for the giggles.

Deliberately nerfing Space PvPers by giving us less skill points is the last thing PvP needs; people don't find it "accessible" due to shoddy balance changes, P2W consoles and "Kirk" mentality that they get from flying through everything in (even Elite) PvE by mashing spacebar.
