We will be bringing down Star Trek Online on Thursday January 5th from 7:00AM to 10:00AM PDT (1400 to 1700 UTC) in order to perform maintenance and apply a new patch.

no it doesn't, they are actually different (but close enough)

Because Coordinated Universal Time sounds better in a Star Trek game :p

If I were Cryptic I would even go as far as to use Stardates. Why not ?
