And for Spocks sake, dont use Boarding party. Pretty much every one carries at least 1 copy of Tac team to help in shield distribution. Guess what counters boarding party? Tac team.

That is a good one I didn't really even have that thought cross my mind.

Also with comunication (so basic it shouldn't HAVE to be told but we all know it does) what ways are you guys using for the most part? Obviously team chat will be used for most newbies. But once some is wanting to forge better connections in the comunity, do you guys use the mic system in game? Maybe TeamSpeak? Or can we basicly forget that and say just stick to Team Chat?

Well, speaking only for myself, I don't know a single pvper who still uses vivox. When I'm on with my fleeties we use our Team speak server. When I go pugging, or do an OPVP premade, usually someone will have a target(player name) keybind, which he uses to call targets in the team chatbox. & we just target that target. If no ones calling targets, I'll just target whichever tac raptor/BoP is in the lead on the way to the fed spawn, then target whichever target he's on for the alpha. Vivox for some reason screws up the sound on my comp, & the bug where you hear every single player who you've been teamed with since you logged that toon on, even after those teams no longer exist, just makes it worthless for me. When fighting premade against premade, Voice coms are essential for getting heals. When pugging, not so much, at least flying Klingon side. Thats another thing, I've really gotton spoiled flying Klingon for so long. Chances are, when i go pugging, at least 2 or 3 of the people i'm teamed with i've faught with dozens, if not hundreds, of times before already. Pugging Fedside is totally different. Sometimes you get lucky & get some experienced people on your team, but usually you get selfish save their heals for themselves "DPS cruisers" as your teammates.
Klingon side you rarely run into the "DPS Cruiser" most Klingons that want to DPS are in ships that DO DPS. DPS cruisers are usually a joke. They rock in PVE, but if you want to kill something in PVP, you need spike damage. Something not many cruiser jockeys can pull off.

Most of us have Vivox turned off due to that stupid bug where it ends up taking up half your window.

Setting up a keybind that says "Now targetting: XXX" to be said in team chat is an excellent and easy way to get some basic focus fire going. Personally, I hardly ever use Vent/TeamSpeak nor do I have a targetting macro/keybind. I just use my situational awareness to see what my Escorts are hitting and support them.

Two more things to add:
- Get yourself a keybind for Distribute Shields; I find a great one to be space bar for distribute shields and fire all weapons.
- Join the OrganizedPvP channel. It's a great place to get help and get teams going. Don't get turned off by all the trash talking and name calling though. It's part of the PvP experience.

Also, maybe include a PVP primer. explaining how much FASTER PVP is than PVE. the importance of teamwork, Focus fire, focus healing, & crowd control. Why Kirking is bad for you & your whole team, & Klingons are not scary/OP. Also the importance of damage resistance, & how to achieve it in your build & Boff power selection.
This is a wonderful idea. A going over of the basices, so to speak.

In PvP do not try and be"player X" you can ask "player X" how he did this or that but most likely your playing style may be differnet enough you can't play the way "Player X" Plays. You need to be your own player and put a build together and ask for tweak advice. Also get rid of Kirk/Chang syndrome. PvP is not about being the hero its about being part of a winning team.

We are doing really good here and I have a number of ideas how to put alot of this together for a segment I will put forward to the Fleet.

So one last one that hasn't really been touched. (Aside from the don't be Kirk/Chang) what are misconceptions we need to break from PVE to have a good PVP player? Team Play will be heavily covered and not to try and solo, target the same person and such so that part I know where to go. What I want to know specificly is the whole "This always works on the computer, why isn't working on this guy" moments. And other things that while the new player might think they are being clever other experinced players just thinking WTF is he doing?!
