Did you even understand the part where ZeroniusRex projects that it takes 5weeks to produce an FE arc and a total of 3months production time to get an FE set deployment-ready? Or the fact that to launch the 3 FEs in the timeframe they did they were still doing rebuilds of the Romulan missions up to the hour before deployment of that FE? Zero outright says "this was an experience we did not want to repeat". Even CapnLogan most recently has reiterated that when Dstahl was proclaiming the game's upcoming treasures, the team got flamed for being unable to deliver, and now you are flaming D'Angelo because he's trying to be a realist? There is no pleasing you at all here is there? Also please take a look at the crypticstudios and pwe jobs board before you spout off on whether or not they are trying to hire. According to Fark, even QA staff is down 1/3 of what they need for STO. Get Some facts first then come back</Calhoun>
Your defense of the EP is admirable, and your opinion is as welcome as mine of course, and if you feel this way by all means stick to your guns.

And yes i can be pleased, by the publisher delivering what they say they will, if they dont promise something and i dont get it im fine with that, if i were concerned about my playerbase being pleased i would "realistically" think they expected this.

The only fact i need is the track record concerning this mysterious affliction of promises we never see come to pass. If they were to say "reverse" this track record i would have to review "my" opinion of course. That has yet to happen.

As i said, by all means stick to your opinion, its as welcome as mine.

I am seeing a odd disconnect with the current Stephen DíAngelo statement about not understanding where players got the idea that there would be more Featured Episodes in 2012. Yet in the STOked episodes 100, he talks about how Danís plans is a good plan and that Cryptic would be moving forwards with it. (STOked ep 100 at 18:00 http://youtu.be/a0tP0YrlJB0?t=18m39s)

I am also surprised that Stephen is does not know where players got the idea that Cryptic has staffed up. While in that same interview (back in October), he gives the idea that they are active hiring and had new staff already. (STOked Ep 100 at 22:00 http://youtu.be/a0tP0YrlJB0?t=21m44s )

Exactly. After watching STOked 100 I find his recent statements, that he just can't possibly imagine where anyone got the idea that they were 'staffed up' to be a preposterously unsupportable assertion.

The STOked 100 interview clearly gives the impression that he is aware of Dan's plans and intended at that time to carry them out. Dan's Engineering Reports are, and have been, readily available and seem like a obvious source for people to get some idea of Dan's plans (hint: it's more FE series than 2 or 3 per year). Those facts plus the historical record of the 3 existing FE series (released, but not developed, in a 6 month window) all add up to make Mr. D'Angelo's statements that he can't imagine whare anyone got the idea that more than 3 per year might be possible or were ever suggested (when a release schedule of 3 per 6 mo = 6 per 1 year is a matter of public record) also patently ridiculous.

Not what I call a post that deserves to have anyone say "Thank you for the honest reply. I really feel like I can trust your information."

More like "Thank you for the patronizing insults. You just destroyed any shred of credibility you had."

I can understand that Stephen was not long in the job when he did this interview and perhaps he had since forgotten what he said during that interview about this and the featured content. I would not be so harsh as others have been but would like some clarification from you Stephen.

A member of the Cryptic Dev team caught with his foot in his mouth? Perish the thought. Sounds like a typical day in Washington around here.

I remember that interview AND that comment.

My head's spinning right now and I'm not sure what to expect with anything at this point. You read one post, get hopeful and all exited, then a number of posts later, complete vertigo.

Listen, all I want to be is entertained. That's why I payed my lifetime subscription for. That's why I stay.

The weekly series were VERY entertaining.

Grab bags, games of chance with super low odds, and Uber rare ships I can only look at from afar, but never play myself are NOT entertaining.

Trying to catch the Deferi Ground invasion, or the Mirror universe event, that is time gated so restrictively, that I'm constantly missing it because I have a family and work, (and don't have a lot of free time), is NOT entertaining.

Grinding 120 or so STFs to get the new sets , (new content), only to get them, then find out that they either don't work, (The MACO XI and XII space shield visuals), or really weren't worth the effort in the first place because they don't compare to the other sets already available, is NOT entertaining.

UBER rare drops that I NEVER get (Borg prototype tech drops) are NOT entertaining.

Waiting to play the new Odyssey class, for months and months and months, after all the hype about the damned thing since the summer, is NOT entertaining. Having things dangled before you gets old real fast if the wait is too long in a drought.

Restrictive game play by and large is NOT very entertaining. (To me) (the forced skill tree split, gated dilithium refinement)

Promises that good things are coming, is NOT particularly entertaining when you're currently playing a game that's has SO MUCH potential neglected. (PVP, Klingon faction, ect. ect. ect.......)

Bugs and exploits that NEVER seem to get addressed is NOT entertaining. (Voldermort )

Testing new content, providing honest feedback, then having the feedback ignored, is not very entertaining.
(crafting, the VA ship token, STF grind, the Jem Hadar ship fiasco, various bugs that despite being reported make their way to holodeck anyway ect. ect. ect.)

Playing the same mission over and over again is NOT entertaining after the hundredth + or so time.

So there is my feedback, honest and true.

I just want to be entertained. The question I have for you now is: Can you entertain me?
Because the rubber hits the road here.

You gotta do, what YOU gotta do to make it happen.

If you can't keep ME entertained, chances are free to players will eventually suffer the same fate.

Just keep me entertained for Pete's sake, that's all I'm asking.

QFEing the last two posts here. My guild and I pulled out in favor of TOR. Why? Because they have content for a reasonable monthly fee. It's that simple. No F2P, no P2W, no Micro-Transactions. One monthly rate that gives me consistent content. It gives me entertainment.

STO is now little more than a F2P face book game that I keep on my laptop for those times I'm bored away from home.
