Shouldn't MACO Engines have a maximum speed of Warp 13?
Why are we hitting Warp 10 with regular engines? Thought Warp 10 supposed to be off-limits? Even Roddenberry himself stated, even if Voyager had that Warp 10 moment.
As for Borg Engines and Slipstream, well I'll be honest I think it's fun but also got a bad feeling it along with mission transwarps are trivalizing travel in STO. Without a larger space enviroment its like running laps instead a 10x12 bedroom.
Personally, I would like to see more the influence of the Bridge Officer's than player skill or equipment. After all it was Geordi and Scotty who made the Enterprise better.
With the tweek, I still do not have enough points as I do now on Holodeck to invest in the same exact skills. And unlike Science and Tactical, Engineers lost much more in trainable skills. I lost 10% of my ship's performance while gaining faster sector speeds.
Threat Generation: Why? Escorts still generate more threat over cruisers and with the unavailability of resistance skills, tanking is not possible in the STFs.
Batteries: Why invest in Batteries when they last longer by default and you got Driver Coil to invest in instead.
Starship Stealth: Nobody uses MES and MES by default is good enough to get by NPCs. And KDF don't need it at all, especially with the Honor Guard Set. (And I recall PvPers who tested it with Honor Guard set that with this, detection against the Tachyon Grid is nullified, so means thats useless).
Subsystem Repair: Useless of useless skills. Need not say more.
Inertial Dampeners: See Above.
Combat Armor: Not even worth investing Skill points in. You gain what 3 points maximum skilled? Wasted points.
Weapon and Auxillary: These should be at lower Tiers, because the ones it's the Science Players who need access to them more than Cruisers or Escorts. But they have to already invest in 2 Tier 5 skills, which really aren't accessable.
EDIT: Cryptic, why is Science Team 3 a Tier 5 skill? Especially when Engineering Team 3 and Tactical Team 3 are Tier 2?
EDIT 2: Just ran the "Tour the Galaxy Race" with the new engines. Got time down to 9 minutes, which 8 minutes is possible if rushing.
Currently on Holodeck, people can hit 12 minutes per lap (5 laps). This will increase the number to 6+.
