Funny to read that I saw a TOS Connie with BOrg kit in the Cure STF last night, made me smile and the Captain never died once, it supprised me!

Hat of to the fella/lass for that one, even used TOS phasers!

Cheers

Thanks for the answers everyone.

Doesnt sound like it will be the easiest ship to fly, but I think I'm going with the Galaxy Dread. Sounds like it will be fun. And while the turning rates dosen't sound that great I think I'll be able to deal with it with the proper equipment and skills. I may die a lot in pvp to start with, but thats all part of learning

Another thing to consider is single cannons in place of forward beams. They have a 180 arc and cannon abilities (scatter volley, rapid fire cannons) do not get in the way of the lances cooldown.

The most important thing to consider about the Gal-X is that its not a solo ship. It needs to be the acnhor of a good team that stays together as it lends fire to the groups target and uses the lance for that spike in damage.

I vote the Galaxy-X, for no other reason than that I have returned and am prepared to cause havoc with it once more.

Oh, hi Wham.

Thnx for this thread guys.
I will still be happy with my old Sovy gal then.

Cheap is good.

Though it seems the Gal-X is very popular ship these days. Or is it just the influx of old players?

The Gal-X, if used in the right way, is a GREAT ship and has much to offer. The problem a lot of people have when they get it is that its not a great turner and you can't be "Kirk" in it, it really isnt a loose canon type ship that many Fed pleyers like. Many thought it would just be a big escort. But it isnt. Its a dreadnaught.

This thing is most feared in with a team that works together, especially with a good Neb' player in tow. It will lay the hurt as it plows, in formation, through the enemy line. At that point, be very affraid of it.

Neb + Gal-X is vicious.

Galaxy turn rate is not an issue for a good pilot. This has been said time and again and again.

With that aside, it does sport considerably more firepower than a Sovereign, with an identical BOFF loadout.

Besides... Sovereign doesn't turn on a dime, either. Thing is still slow.

Meh. It's preference... I've always said that the ship doesn't win the match, the Captain does.

But still, I've always been confident and won many battles with my dreadnought. I will continue to do so.

Of course, if your in the middle of a group turning shouldn't matter. This ship is the anvil for the groups hammers...

Since the latest patch went through, I've greatly enjoyed my GX. She's the only ship I'm flying at the moment.

i took the Gal x out today after a brief respec and gear refit and I was very pleasently supprised that she does handle a bit quicker than she used to and did very well in the STF's OK its still a pain when a Borg rapture gets on your six but full reverse gave them a supprise!

If you spec well and gear up well she does do the business. Used 6 beam arrays and a q torpedo fore and a photon aft might throw is a tricolbalt aft instead. Not sure yet.

Cheers
