I too found that confusing and thus created the thread. Now Rehpic says it was always supposed to be this way he now states. I don't like this either since it made gold seem a better choice but now it makes it a weaker one. A silver player that will roll one new character per month would be better off just buying the points and save money instead of sub.
If Cryptic can't encourage people to cultivate more than one character, then having a Gold account, let alone buying a Lifetime subscription is definitely not a recommendable option.

I should have said in the last post they don't even have to spend money anymore. They can farm dilithium then take it to the exchange even.
My bad. I was going from memory of what had previously been in the matrix and I mis-remembered. It looks like they updated the matrix to have the details I sent them for how many slots you get at each rank, but the main text still says "+2 Additional Slots Per Rank" and "+1 Additional Slot Per Rank", which is incorrect. I will get them to fix it. In the mean time, the correct number of slots can be seen by mousing over the question mark. Here it is for your reference:
Too bad I have a definition that fits the word and so I am not offended. Every time I see someone who can't accept the definition that is OFFICIAL, all I think when I read the post is "U Mad?" And it makes me LOL.
I also think you don't know what "official" means, based on this. Dictionary.com isn't official anything.
But hey, you can say your unbelievably clever, "U Mad?" remark. We'll all be impressed by your wit as we try to figure out what you really mean, and whether or not you're trying to be a jerk.
Dictionary.com has it as an inaccurate or false statement. So what do you think and inaccurate or false statement is?
The Oxford English Dictionary is the ultimate authority on the English language:
An act or instance of lying; a false statement made with intent to deceive; a criminal falsehood. Phrase, to tell (â€*formerly to make) a lie . â€*Also, without lie, no lie, truly (often as an expletive in Middle English poetry; cf. without fable at fable n. 1d).In mod. use, the word is normally a violent expression of moral reprobation, which in polite conversation tends to be avoided, the synonyms falsehood and untruth being often substituted as relatively euphemistic
-Source OED.
The OED sums it up quite nicely. Accusing someone of lying is, violent expression of moral reprobation, which in polite conversation tends to be avoided. Calling someone a liar does not just posses the denotation of accusing them of intentionally attempting to mislead, it possesses the connotation of accusing them of immoral or unethical behavior.
That is all I have to say about that. The Oxford English Dictionary states my points most eloquently.

It's more official than what "people think it means" as you tried to pool. Nice try though. I sense the trolling in strong with this one.
And Webster's says : to create a false or misleading impression
Calling them lairs over something so small is a bit harsh. The game changes fast, not every little sentence can be reworded systematically without a lot of work. Sometimes something will be missed.
They are not liars. The information is also partly correct, you do get additional when ranking up don't you.
False advertising is illegal... Stop justifying illegal activity, changing 1 line on a website takes as long as it takes to type the correction out...
Bait and switch...
You advertise a product (say a game) on a website, you offer me say a lifetime subscription and a discount on the price of the game... This is called 'Advertising'
You lie about the quality of the game and/or the subscription, you lie about their usability and their value, you give me a false impression of what I'm buying... This is called 'The Bait'
I wait for the game I purchased to react a satisfactory quality (through updates), somewhat happy in the knowledge I have a lifetime subscription, so I'll never have to send another £ on the game in my lifetime again.
You then decide to give the game away for free, allow people to play the game for free and charge me for extra content from an online game store...
This is Bait and Switch and it is very much illegal.... but you lot are gamers, maybe around the age of 14/15... what do you care!

Which increases my fear that someday, probably sooner than later, we'll find ourselves playing a set of story-based missions (Featured Episodes perhaps even) that were intentionally built to force us to use gear that one can only buy for Dilithium or on the C-Store.
I really hope I'm wrong and that Cryptic would come out and promise us it'll never happen, but I know that if their bottom-line requires it to happen, it will happen no matter their promises!

I don't intend this as a slam against any Lifer here. But what you just out lined is exactly why I opted not to dish out the hundreds of dollars for the lifer title. IMO, no MMO company is worthy of a life time subscription plan. They all screw you eventually. The one good thing you can enjoy is the monthly stipend.
Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud, most commonly used in retail sales but also applicable to other contexts. First, customers are "baited" by advertising for a product or service at a low price; second, the customers discover that the advertised good is not available and are "switched" to a costlier product.
