I can also say without a doubt my ships do not turn worse than they used to, escorts, raptors, cruisers, whatever. They all feel the same, and the numbers bear that out. Of course none of them have 9 in impulse thrusters either.

However, I have heard it suggested that impulse thrusters does not increase turn rate past rank 3 for no apparent reason, yet continues to increase speed all the way to rank 9. This might give the illusion of a worse turn rate when you are constantly overshooting. Your speed most likely went up with the season 5 changes. I know all my escorts run less engine power than before because they were going too fast with the changes. Of course your turn rate is actually still the same in that case, its just a wider arc.
This makes sense, your turn rate may be the same, but due to higher speeds your turn radius is up. Definitely plausible.

I will take this into account. Foxrocks has a good sense about these things.

But I fly the defiant like a bat out of hell. Well, not so much anymore. Foxrocks it's different bro. But I will slow myself down a bit to get my radius back.

The thing is tho, I'm a hawk on the speed control. I never touch my mouse. The 2 buttons I hit more that fire energy weapons are +1/4 impulse and -1/4 impulse. I go from reverse to 1/4 to full back to reverse.... Ect ect. Agility is my thing man. I'm on your ***. That's it. It feels different bro.

I'm just throwing out possibilities. I don't have a clue why a ship would be more sluggish. None of mine are.

Maybe try unequipping everything changing zones and reequipping it all too, just to be sure its not some odd bug that isn't detecting RCS consoles or something random. Other than that I really couldn't guess whats going on.

Turnrates definitely did drop after S5 patch. My Fleet and Advanced escorts that got about 33-34 turn rate with 1 RCS dropped to 31, Defiant down too. Cruisers, AC, Exc, Galaxy, all dropped 1-2 degrees. BoP is down even more. There's no denying it. Full spec in all that affects turn rate and engine power, pre-S5 vs now, turn rates are down.

there you go. another great pilot confirming it. now we gotta ask why???? what would be the upside, if any, to cutting turnrates for all ships? surely everyone knows only one class of ship really makes the best use of being agile, it also happens to be the one that has the most damage capability.

Just because the number is displaying fine, doesnt mean the math in the back ground is fine. Something has to be off with how its arriving at the number, or affecting the ship itself. It is going to be harder for people to realize the difference in sluggish ness as time goes on and they get used to the new turning.

We need this investigated as soon as possible. My escort turns like a pig!
I have no complaints with the turn of my 'scort.

I never knew the Oberth was that dangerous....

It sounds like peoples turn rates, overall, have changed +/- a few tenths of a degree. The question I have is this, if the rates did change slightly, +/- % how much difference does it mean in combat? a mid-30's turn rate is still damned good for an escort, and the B.O.P. is still in the 40's? Its not like grandmas Buick-of-a-Galaxy is going to catch you either way, right?

Something looks and feels off. It's hard to assume intent though since every time they tinker they screw something up. It wouldn't surprise me if I spent points wrong anymore than it would surprise me to find out that some number on their end didn't translate well.

Who knows.

I think some of the problem is I think there is a bug from a power like chroniton mines that nevers clear. I was in a few matches this weekend with a lot of chrony spam. When it would proc I would slow but I died under the proc and respawned my ship would still be slow.
