My advice is, unless you're a heal boat, drop the cruiser.

Honestly, there are very very few cruiser pilots that are a threat in PvP. In fact, if they don't focus on healing/tanking, most are just sitting ducks that are easy to destroy.

listen, you guys hang in there, you will find a feet. or one will find you. at tops there are around 50 of us who pvp regularly, and even less that excell in what they are good at. i consider myself, at least, on the road to competing with them.

but there are so many intagibles to discuss. for 1, the shot caller of any fleet is the mvp. they are hard to find, and as rare as anything in this game. the more you play the game, the more you will find decsision making more important than the powers that your team has at their disposal to deliver.

have fun, kill bad guys.

@Captain_Horizon: I've been looking for a pvp fleet for quite some time now with no luck. I PvP everyday..

Can you please explain? Didn't quite get it.. or maybe the shot caller is one player that is calling the targets during the match?

Forgot to ask something, how about the power settings? I'm getting around 123/53/72/34 (without any ability active).
I tried to boost weapons and shields instead of speed.. but that is waste of power, becomes too slow and easy target for bops

What your goal should be for engine power is enough to get you over 24 impulse. Check your throttle to see your speed. At that point you have the most defense from speed that you can get.

yes, the shot caller is the guy that has everyone's build in his head, and coordinates the timing of the team. situational awareness and communication are the key to this role. i am an average shot caller, ive been on teamspeak with those WAY more effective than me. im more of a.....kill what now...okay! kinda pilot...

"focus on the same target" although great while pugging, just doesnt cut it vs. a premade. not to say the random beautiful synergy of a pug doesnt click sometimes, we all know it does.

and as for the join fleet advice, just ask people. see someone hand you yer *** all the time....he's there everyday during your timeslot.....pm him. ask questions, ask to be a part of his/her team. some fleets are invitation only, please dont be discouraged if you get a couple noes from some of the bigger names out there. but trust me bro, hang in there, practice....become effective at a role in battle. good fleet leaders will be pm'ing you to join their team.

have fun kill bad guys

@FoxRocks: I just checked, it's at 26.73... shows 60% bonus defense on the menu. Good?

@Captain_Horizon: wow.. I have yet to experience a match like that. When things are organized, the game should be a lot better for sure..
I'll follow your tips, and I hope every single VA follows them too.

Thanks a lot!

My biggest problem with calling targets was always when to decide it's okay to switch targets. There is always the feeling you're wasting your investment into a target, but sometimes other targets are just... softer.

Believe me, I tell you from experience that a tac on an assault cruiser, despite the name, is a joke!
If you don't like the hit and run tactics required with an escort, then you have two alternatives:
Excelsior or Dreadnought.
The first allows more offensive abilities thanks to the LtC Boff, it has a good turn rate and can tank relatively well, the second with the cloak, the spinal lancer and the possibility to mount the heavy cannons is perfect for attacking by surprise the kli carriers, and it also tanks better with a double epts3.
No need to repeat the good advices about the build that the best PvPers in the world who write in the PvP forum (I am not among them!) have given to you, but my warning is the following:
never face the battle alone if you have the Excelsior, you have no hope if you will be surrounded by fast bops with the new (toy) consoles, and remain always cloaked and only strike at the right time with the Dreadnought.
Good luck out there and kill the bad guys (the KDF!)

did some checking on that. Engine power levels should hover over 54 percent to achieve this.

Actually, I love hit & run.. I do it all the time on my other chars with escorts/bop. I just wanted to try something different
I've thought about the Excelsior and the Dreadnought, and I'd love to try this advice you've given here. Unfortunantly, I'll need to grind a lot of dilithium to get those

@rlaffargue: ****.. I'm at exactly 52 .. By the way, how did you calculate that?
