True, but the console is more of a OH S*** button, & when it's done, your aux is gone, in a ship where almost all of your heals are aux dependent. Leaving you no better than you where before you used it. The Kar-Fi Captain is going to get way more bang for the buck putting a console in thats going to help his SCI powers.
Now, if the phase shift allowed me to move through asteroids or other geometry I'd find a purpose for it.

The intention is for the console to be competitive; it is possible the Aux drain is too high.

What are people's experiences and opinions? Are you using the console, or not?

honestly ive used it once, but im so horrible with the Karfi and love my Brel-R so much that i havnt touched it in a while. Im betting that most ppls trouble with the ship is that its hard to get a handle on- i know that was mine. I really only used the console when i was about to die, but i was surprised how quickly it drained my AUX then phased out. It did do the job though-kept me alive.

I have one, I use it more like a MES....if I'm getting too beat up I'll hit it and evasive and get the heck out of whatever bad situation I'm in...hopefully, heh.
It's OK, but not overly impressive...the power drain does kinda suck, if you're clear of battle you sometimes have time to recover, but if not it becomes almost dangerous unless ya got a EPT to help you.
I like flying the ship overall, it's a decent carrier and has good firepower, but gawd is it ugly.
It could use a couple customization options, it currently has almost none.

nope, the console, in my build, is a complete waste Heretic. I have never activated it, not one time. To me its useless. I have left it equipped for the past two weeks and run about 70+ Stf, space, and in about 25+ Pvp, and never had the need to use it once.

Just seems very out of place. Understand this is for my build only.

It's competitive for PVE - I love the fact my Kar'Fi is the only ship I know that can fly through the explosion of a Borg tactical Cube in STF's ;-)

PVP might be another matter however.

I fly the Kar-Fi daily in PVP & just can't see a use for it. It gives you about another 10 seconds of life , after which you have zero aux power. making you unable to use aux dependent heals, & lengthening the time before your next hanger launch, plus it has a long cool down. The AMS console is about 10 times as useful.
That said, i have used it a few times in STF's, to get the Borg aggro off of me. of course, this just means that one of my teammates is going to get hit instead of me, as the carrier pets seem unable to draw agro from the Borg. I'm not sure how to improve this console. Even if it didn't drain my Aux, I don't believe a possible 10 second extension on my life every couple of minutes is going to be more beneficial than the increased damage I'm going to get numerous times over that same period having a sci console there. With only 2 Engi consoles, you cant really put the Phase shift there, & the loss in DPS by putting the Phase shift console in one of the tac slots just is IMO totally not worth it. The Kar-Fi is an awesome ship because of the amount of DPS it brings plus its powerful sci abilities. It's fun to fly because you're not just a point & shoot escort, or a no damage sci ship, It's a fusion of the best of both ships. It is my favorite ship in STO. The only way i could see a use for it would be in a tac slot on a full aux CC build, which is really the Varanus's job.

To be honest the few times I've tried to use one it just put me into rage mode because of a few elements. The carrier pets and the commands I believe need to be put at some higher priority because of they are not a large volume of KDF combat. Another is the only place I'd be using it until we get more content is STF's and there is a big flaw with it is most of the time when a player uses the phase cloak its when shields are very weak or down and with that aux drain it is a fast paced aux drain that is sucking out your kinetic damage resistance at the same time which in most cases is pointless because of the fact it negates the reason you are using it.

The best constructive feedback I can give for the ship which would also include the voyager/intrepid retrofit since they operate in a similar manner although not the same is restructuring how their abilities work. One big turn off is the cool down on it which the intent on that is understood for balance purposes. More than likely the best suggestion I could come up with is use the multi vector as a base for a possible revamp of the intrepid retrofit and the kar'fi phase cloak. Having 3 modes of the ability with respective cool downs and pros and cons of using each of these modes. Looking at the kar'fi function and the cost of it not a whole lot of ppl would go and buy it the only people who would use it are those of us who already own one. I'm not sure exactly how a dev would go about creating such said modes but an example of one mode I had in my head was the cloak as it stands now but without that time of 10 seconds where instead the main draw back would be that it has thrusters only when in the full fledged untargetable phase cloak. That would be a decent balance being an evasive manuevars or an engine battery would counter it for pvp purposes. I was naming intrepid in there also because its similar in design of game mechanics but both ships offer very little long term enjoyment off their special skills. I figured I'd share my 2 cents of that hoping we get some more iconic fun/enjoyment off of these ships or more so what we expected when we first heard of them.

I for one have found that naturally the console fires and does not last very long but I do find if I pop an Aux battery just before using this console it works great for me. I am immune to just about everything and can let fly with my Antiprotons lol. I find it is BEST for saving me from hardcore Warp Core Breeches that I cannot get that big tub to fly away from or to get out of a serious spike attack if I can see it coming. Lowering its drain could be ok but be careful, it is a VERY powerful effect to let last too long.
