# 1 Frequent Disconnections
01-10-2012, 01:58 PM
Hello everyone! First time posting here so please let me know if I left out anything that would help my case. The last two or three days, the STO client frequently disconnects me from the game. It's usually preceded by rubberbanding and lagging that may or may not resolve itself before the connection drops. The time between disconnects varies. Sometimes I can play uninterrupted for half an hour, other times I have to reconnect at least ten times just to complete a daily Deferi mission. This seems to only happen to STO. My connection strength is strong and no other program seems to suffer from disconnects.

Here are the results of the nettest.

Try switching the Proxy too either Us or EU on the game launcher see witch works better

To get there you first open the game launcher
then at the top of the launcher there is a options click on it
then a white page will pop up in there is a section called Proxy
Try Switching too either EU or US.

I just tried your suggestion. Switching to US Proxy seemed to work a little better but it's still disconnecting. : (

It seems to have gotten worse. It starts to disconnect within a minute or two of entering the game. I saw that Port 7255 stalled during nettest. I read that that was part of patching or something...?

well it could be worse for me the game forces my internet connection to reset. have no idea why. its the first game i ever played to do something like that. but from experince with peer2peer programs ive used before i think they are using a peer2peer program we cant shut down with sto and its causing people d/c and lag
