My friend has just followed the process of creating an account via the referral system.
None of the claimed rewards have been recieved by either her or myself despite her having gone on to purchase a subscription.
Her and my own attempts to sort this via costomer service tickets have met with such appalling results and evidenty lack of care that she has now cancelled her subscription.
I can state clearly I shall never again refer a friend to this game despite having enjoyed it for almost two years now and I recommend that this process is looked at and made much more transparent before the F2P experience leaves many more of us in a similar position of disgust.
I paid for Cryptic mistakes with credibility with my friend. I will not do that again.

So, has the original 30 days (included with the Retail Package) passed since your friends account was created... (As the subscription doesn't kick in until after those 30 days...)
Well if it helps others who may find themelves i na similar situation.
My suspicion is that the steps you are guded to follow through the referral system are not actually the steps that you need to take mto make it work. Following the links provided in the email etc.
1: It did not apply the referral product code automatically
2: It told her on log-in she needed to subscribe so she did.
Now what she actually needed to do to qualify was BUY the game... which she was never prompted to do and THEN presumably is she subbed the additional rewards would have been applied IF she had added the referral code.
This is partly guess work and particularly unhelpful ticket response my end was that she, the brand new player, had to submit and sort out what are essentially rewards for MY account.
If anyone else is goign through this process I would advise them to make sure they do these things in the correct order ratehr than fololow th onscreen advice. Also, anyone taking out a subscription who does not own the game is insane ebcause the digital deluxe version offers so many perks along with 30 days game time.
I am just apalled that people starting out fresh through referral are beingguided to make the wrong decisions by the game client. In my case a I have not even received the 'warp to friend' option for example which is supposed to be free - whatever she has done wrong in the process I feel very strongly that GMs should have spotted the mistake and sorted out for her rather than batting back with useless ifnormation whcih has not fixed anything days later.
