*!*!*We are investigating an issue where some players are seeing a "login failed for unknown reason" error at the log-in screen.*!*!*
We are investigating a bug where some Gold Members may not have received their additional character slot -- details here (Will be fixed ASAP!).
UPDATE! We are also investigating reports of slow patching and are working on a resolution. For a better patch experience, please restart your launcher. It will pick up where it left off and should be faster to complete.
If you have purchased a Legacy or Starter Pack, please see this thread for instructions on how to claim your items in-game.
If you have additional questions about the Legacy or Starter pack, please read this FAQ.
Yeah DS9 needs a SERIOUS overhaul. The place is supposed to be a major social hub (even more so with the new FE series being centered there). I'm not sure why it feels so rushed, but there is plenty of reference material to work from considering it played a prominent role in nearly every episode of DS9 the series.
A note of caution on these ones: it looks like they are fairly early plans, as the actual sets had the holding cells connected to the Security Office instead of separate on the Promenade, and there was no transporter room on the Promenade (the only DS9 transporter pads I can recall ever seeing are the ones in Ops).

This isn't actually the case. There's a couple times where we see civilians beaming in on a set of transporter pads on the Promenade- mostly people from Bajor.
On the show, I remember DS9 always had a very bright, white side light, coming from . . . a star? maybe? But I don't remember them every showing a nearby star?
I know it used to be next to Bajor, but they dragged it off a ways to be near the wormhole, would lighting still be coming from Barjor's sun?
Just as a rough estimate, I imagine DS9 is at least as far out as Pluto and Bajor's star is about one solar mass, which would give it an apparent magnitude of -19 whereas a full moon is -12. So, it is probably at best 1000 times brighter than a full moon but at least 1000 times dimmer than the sun.
So, it is not going to be bright enough to light the Bajor side of the station through the windows, but it is going to be bright enough that it is still pretty bright during a blackout.
Right now, I'm polishing up Bajor.
I haven't done anything to DS9 yet, and the most I've heard is some lighting and performance tweaks to the Promenade. No huge rework as far as I'm aware.
I haven't even loaded the map yet.
One major addition to DS9 in my opinion, would be the security officer (Odo's office) including Brig, as well as the Infirmary (proper sickbay).
Secondly, add the "Starfleet Academy" chair tech to most chairs around the station, most notably at Quark's.
And finally, add a "Holosuite" or two to the second level of Quark's, even if it's just for show.
Wardroom: This would be cool to see at some point, perhaps in a mission involving Federation/Klingon peace talks. Probably wouldn't be accessible from the main DS9 zone, as it appears to be located in the Habitat Ring.

I know I'm not likely to see a lot of this stuff any time soon, if ever, but I am extremely passionate about this station, and hope to see it get a makeover comparable to the one ESD got, with the attention to detail seen in the TOS Enterprise interior and the forthcoming Defiant interior.
The beauty of the wadtroom set is that most of the quarters and non-promenade sets are basically just this set with walls pushed around and different furniture.
One thing I'd like to see considered as STO goes forward is how many sets are redresses and how that can save on effort.
If you do a Galaxy class replica interior, for example, you'll already have most of what you need for an Enterprise-A interior (or vice versa) since they're the same sets with a few props moved around and a different coat of paint. The Enterprise-A bridge is even on a Galaxy as the Battle Bridge.
Likewise, the Defiant interior was redressed as the NX interior, if memory serves, while most Ferengi ship sets after the introduction of the Defiant were also the Defiant set.
Heck, Grand Nagus Zek's office on Ferenginar is basically the Bajoran temple from DS9; the floor pattern is even intact.
There is one colony set that got reused heavily on TNG, DS9, and Voyager and I think mocking it up and setting it up to be redecoed:
