Is this confirmed? Does Recruitment Rank have any influence on what we get out of Cadres or other Recruitment Assignments?

There is only 1 Fed Flight Deck Officer, and it's an Ultra Rare.

Not other assignments.. just the one with the junior officer cadre...the results from that pack I *believe* are slightly better if you have recruitment ranks.

Leastwise my main does get Rare's from those fairly often (ish). And I do know that the idea has been pushed around Doffjobs that Recruitment ranks may affect cadre packs... I stress again *MAY*

Rare and Very Rare in the duty officer system are, in fact, much rarer than Rare and Very Rare are in other parts of the game. This is by design; we wanted to make sure that getting a perfect crew of purple - or even blue - duty officers would be an extremely long term proposition.


Currently there are no non-unique Federation Flight Deck Officers. I am not against putting some in if there is enough interest, but I figured their use on the Federation side was so narrow that people would be more irritated by getting Flight Deck Officers when they would have preferred something else.

IMO, throw some in the doff store under diplomacy. This way they're available, but can't cause annoyance.

Could also put them in the defector rewards if adding more commendation rewards isn't an option. Both ways kind of make sense, since they're basically officers originating from the KDF.

Well you will then be very suprised about my findings, let's say I am a little over 50 in game packs opened without a rare or very rare, so from a pool of ~250 doffs (5 per pack) the propability of getting a rare or very rare is < 1/250, so far because I have yet to get one in an in game pack. I will most likely keep going on the data collection until I get 2 rares from an in game pack. However, I think you may want to check the drop table for ingame packs as it is now, something seems very off.

Please don't change this. I like the idea of such a difficult goal to strive towards. It's fairly "easy" to get all Greens. All Blues, difficult, but I think eventually doable. All purples? That's going to be quite challenging and/or expensive. I like it!

ORLY? Well, that explains it. I didn't realize. I'll stop searching the Exchange for them, then. Heh. I can see why you'd make 'em unique and why people would be bummed to get stuck with lots of them. No, I shouldn't think it necessary to add more.

Just brainstorming here... Heretic, what about the possibility of having Ferra sell some White/Common DOffs. Say one of each of whatever non-civilian that doesn't come in the Starter 20 Pack. Vanillas across the board: Human with only basic human traits. Nothing too useful other than meeting the min specialization requirements. Ferra could sell these for 100-200 Dil each or something like that. Bound and Unique, so you only can buy one (at a time, if they die on assignment, come back, buy another, red-shirt style).

Put a Technician in there, Damage Control, etc. No need to add Flight Deck Officer to the random pack pulls, but Feds could buy one generic here (and hunt for that Ultra Rare one Mouse mentioned), if desired. No prisoners, colonists, or refugees.

Obviously the KDF should get similar access in their DOff store.

Recruitment commendation rank has no effect on what you get when you open a pack. Recruitment commendation rank does open up some additional recruitment assignments, however.

Regarding making white duty officers available, there has been a lot of discussion and debate internally about this, but at this time we feel the Exchange offers a sufficiently plentiful supply, particularly once we get the Exchange sorting and filtering issues nailed down.

Regarding rarity, we have no current plans to significantly adjust how rare "Rare" is. Getting a crew of all purples - or even all Blues - should be a monumental achievement. That being said, white quality duty officers are much more viable than, say, white quality weapons in the normal course of gameplay.

Where's the Blue and Purple Quality Dilithium Doffs, I have maxed Diplomacy and when I scroll down this Tab with Lt Ferra' store I have only access to green !,000 Dilithium Doffs.

I think this design choice is partially undermined by the fixed Asylum missions. They simply make it far too easy to get blue and purple doffs, even with the 20 hour duration of the mission and the cooldown involved. The ease with which one can obtain rare doffs from Asylum renders many of the other recruitment efforts moot, and significantly devalues the C-Store doff pack because it's no longer difficult to get a blue or better.

I got the same issue. I'm not at 4 but at 3 and cant get the blue ones. I sent in a bug report some time ago about it but haven't herd anything yet.
