For as much grinding as it takes to get the complete set of any of the new gear sets, I think they should be super-uber badarse anyway...

Meh, I don't really care that the shields are OP.

This is sto we're talkin about zor. Balance doesn't enter the equation there.

got lucky in an stf and scored the mkXI shield drop. went maco.

pretty silly. dropped the neutronium and put the rcs back in. they are hella hard. 2 copies of epts.

and if you got a buddy with extend its pretty much a wrap.

still, i think instead of any kind of nerf, we will just see more and more powerful ships and gear.

I grinded out the MK XI MACO on my Tactical. It makes doing elite space more manageable, but in pvp I either need to respec or grind out the Omega. For my engineer the MACO makes a ton of sense for both PvP or PvE.

That's the thing though, for some characters certain sets will make sense in some conditions, but all things are not equal.

Run Target shield subsystem, but I guess that most have epts.

and a battery and someone on their team that can probably toss an e-team at them....

I was dismayed last night to see how good the MACO XI set really is. I could barely scratch an escort using that set.

I didn't see any sign that the damage output was unreasonable, but the shielding was unreal.
