Anyone else think that those different weapon platforms you can get from the DOFF missions are a joke?

They should have at least the hull of 10 cruisers combined and the punch of an escort - especially with the long cooldown those things have.

You as much as look at these things and they blow up. I like the concept, I like that they are hard to obtain, but really they serve no purpose.

Anyone else have thoughts?

No disrespect to you but how useful should something you did essentially nothing to get be to you? I mean, you woke up, spent 10 seconds pushing a couple of buttons, came back later and got a free platform. The "good" things in the game should come from playing and earning them, not just clicking a DOFF mission, IMO.

to be fair the only time we see anything like the weapon platforms in action is in DS9 where the Cardassian ones rip apart the Allied fleet so really it would be cannon to have them that powerful

Only thing I would love to see with the weapon platforms is us able to turn them in for XP than having cluttering the banks or having them destroyed to make room.

Yes, I only run the first plan missions for the espionage experience. I've never built any more of them after discovering how bad they were.

Most of mine cost me all that plus 50k credits. Just the type of mission I get I guess. They should be useful. At least 50k worth of useful. A weapons battery can get me a ten percent damage boost for 200 credits. Oh just kidding. The fact is the amount of effort any player puts into getting any particular item in the game really needn't have any bearing on that items utility. The item has merit or it doesn't. This item doesn't.

I think that they are pretty similar to the weapons platforms you already see in the game. They basically take up an often-unused device slot, and they can be useful on STF missions and probably on PvP if everyone on your team is deploying them at the same time.

My point was they are a blue item
You do have to do more then just press a few buttons
Then should last and a more damage then what they do now

Otherwise lets remove them from the game because they add no benefit

I would be willing to say make them harder to get as long as they are worth it.

Now they and the stuff to make them just use up inventory slots - don't forget the very long
cool down timer for them

Like I mentioned I love the idea, but they currently not worth the inventory slot they take up

The need a BUFF. Perhaps not to the level that you see in DS9, but something that gives them just a bit more survivability or punch. They also need to reduce their aggro.

If they are going to be weak, the need to at least be a but stronger, or at least have the ability to do ensign-level attacks (T:HY, B:FAW or B:O)
