***Resolved Issues***
"Login failed for unknown reason" error
Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
Slow patching in the launcher
A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
This did not always use to happen to me in STO but lately in the evening hours when I play STO I experience a lot of lag while playing, disconnects from the login server while trying to connect back into the game after attempting to get rid of the lag by relogging, and game errors when I finally do get back into the game. All this results in my inability to play STO entirely like right at this moment when I log into the game I can't move or do anything.
Anyone else having this problem?
I submitted a ticket explaining the problem and noted how this mostly happens in the evening hours. It sometimes happen in the afternoon and rarely in the morning. The problem sounds like Load balancing issues on the STO servers due to players logging into the game. The solution would be to get more servers but in case the problem is on my end can you, dear reader, answer this question:
Are you having this problem as well? If not post anyway that will help me determine if the problem is on my end.
FIXED: I have a Quad-core CPU (4 Cores) what I did was I logged into the game up to the character selection screen, then ATL+TAB, then CTRL+ATL+DEL to open the task manager, then I went to the "GameClient.exe," Right clicked on it, select set afinnity, and I deselected one of the cores(cpu).
This fixed the problem wonderfully but it seems I have to do this everytime I want to run the game. A minor inconvenience I guess. I still experience Lag and disconnects though but it is not as bad as before.

ZeroniusRex My UTC is (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) and my problems mostly appear after 6pm
And I don't think the problem is on my end because the first few days of F2P STO everything was fine which leads me to believe it is a problem with Server Stress. Too many people are playing at once and stressing the servers. But I did try some of the tips in other posts like resetting my router/modem and it helped. A few minutes ago I was able to log in and play for 15 minutes but the lag came up again and I had to exit.

can you post the nettest both after 6 and beofre 6 (when you do not have problems)
anytime nettest readings is less that 250 in column 1 and 3 and less than 13 in column 2 you likely have lag and disconnects
good connections will have values near 500 or column 1 and 3 and 20 for column 2 and no time outs.
your tracert should not have any timeouts or * either for a good connection. usually indicates a problem at that hop routers
I just logged into the game I thought everything would be fine but I cant' move! The only thing that does move are the NPCs. I see no activity from other players. Not even the Log Out button works the only thing that did work was Exit Game.
Here is the Tracert which I started at 10:00am EST -5 UTC

And here is the NETTEST also started at 10:00am EST -5 UTC
I fixed the problem. Read the first post to find out how.
WAIT
The problem still persists! Looks like it was a temporary fix. This time I even turned down the video graphics all the way and it still doesn't work. I can't move at all! It worked for about 30 minutes allowing me to do a PvE event but afterwards it broke down. I'm going to try to restart my computer and network and see if that works but I doubt it. I hope STO DEV Team can somehow remedy this problem soon.
I had the problem over the last two hours. Couldnt stay connected for more than about a minute so I reset my home router and then never had an issue. Is it possible something in the game is trying to make a lot of net requests which is confusing/overloading some folks home connections?
I run a lot of stf's and I noticed on almost every ground run that someone gets a disco. It seems during a fire fight moment. The last borg ground invasion teammates all got discos at different times which makes getting back into the same zone a pain.
This seems to be an issue with the big dig, which really sucks after the "no fun" move to the q system, where ppl can't get back in, that's one ground game that's really hurts without ppl being able to get into late and have ppl quit from lack of man power for the last half.
I almost never see any issues with space even with sb24 heavy fire fights. That's the disco issue.
I think there's always some lag from time to time on heavy nights, but not much too complain about except for the plasma leap in infected.
NO answers I"m not a tech expert, but I noticed the trend more in the ground game. Otherwise a once in awhile crash, but like the rest, getting use to it as being part of the game for now.
