This actually isn't a bad idea at all.

It'll give people not only a reason to PvP, but a reason to actually do more than just sit at the spawn or suicide (can't say I miss the Emblem farmers at all). Plus, even if you get all 15 kills in a match, you can only get a max of 75 Ore (more possible during CnHs, of course).

The only problem I could see with it is that since they so careful crafted the Refined/Ore rates and how much can be earned in a day, this could possibly mess with that. But, most people will run what, 5-6 Arenas? Maybe 10 max in a day? At most, that could give you 750 Ore. Not enough to throw the economy into disarray, but it'll be a nice incentive to do good in PvP.

Maybe even more than 5, since the actual Ore you'l lget isn't all that much. Maybe 50-100 per kill?

(Though, this then causes an issues where healers/Scis are at an inherent disadvantage)

3 per kill achieved / 2 per death and respawn?

Of course you will see a flood of lemmings enter PvP jumping into any fire even remotely aimed thier direction.....It'll be like a fox in the hen house...... carnage and debris everywhere.....

Sci and support engs wont get anything from such support, so it will end with escrots duking it against each others. No fun, thank you.

Actually, escort dogfights are very fun, IMHO.

On topic ore for kills on the surface seems like a good idea any extra dilith gain is good to me.

Escort fights are great ways to get the most out of the sto game mechanics to me. I fly escorts pretty much all the time and much weaving about (Can we get a barrel roll?) I also try to watch 1 on 1's whenever they're "announced" in kerrat; watching 2 escorts from a distance you can truely appreciate a good player and the game itself.

In the seldom occasions that I have seen cruisers/scorts (the scort attaches itself like those fish that stick to the underside of whales) or cruisers versus cruisers where they look linked to eachother via the constant beams.
Its like a married couple on a tandom bike, but theres no romantic picnic as their destination, only a fiery explosivy spaceship.
