I can't believe how many players are bad at jumping, it's still as bad as it was in the pre-queue STFs !!!
And that was one of te worse things they coudl have done... now they don't need to learn it on normal and horribly fail at elite...

I duno when, but I suggested way back when the first STF where introduced to make an optional to be able to vent the insta death plasma, which would take an extra 10min or so to flip a switch.

You are right about that. If you can guarantee heals Cure becomes puggable again.

The respawns are insanely fast and no matter how many times you keep telling people to stop wasting time killing them all they still do it anyway (and wipe because they stay in the center).

Some people have problems jumping over a simple fence. I doubt they even own a mouse. You can also see them move like this: /‾\__/‾‾\_ like a robot.

How do you come to the conclusion that you are supposed to be in there pushing buttons while eveyone else is 100 meters away fighting?
Why are you not with the group working as a team?

I try to jump on my Ferengi to give instruction on normal to help folks out as much as I can, but I can't really help with a thought process like that.
I don't understand it either. Do people go "Oh, shiny!" and start randomly hitting their keyboard or what? That's not even rare. Probably happens every 3rd normal run and sometimes even in the elite.

I can only assume that some of them don't know that the generators (? I never pay attention to what these things are actually called when you target them) completely regen if their shield goes back up, and think "If I hammer away them randomly, they'll get in enough hits to kill them eventually. That'll be quicker than having everyone trapse around to each one individually, and spend time going 'okay this one?' won't it?"

Either that or they have no clue what the shields are actually protecting. That's actually a bit more likely, isn't it?

I feel your pain on this matter.... but the fact is I just came back to STO from another game and am in the process of relearning everything... I've que'd up for 3 infected normal mode ground missions now and we always do fine until the last room... things just go to hell... usually lose 1 person before hand from DC or quit because they don't understand remodulating their weapons etc.. THen we try to four man it... get all the pillars going with the uploaded virus and last boss spawns and proceeds to almost 1 shot everyone over and over again... on normal... So I've suspended queing up for these missions until I find a fleet that I can join that does this together. On another note when I ask in team chat whats the game plan here....... enter (crickets) (crickets).

One thing to remember is many people are gearing up. I know on normal my Klingon carrier character does WAY WAY worse then my Fed VA engineer does because my engineer has pretty much maxed out equipment while my Klingon character still has pretty bad equipment.

It takes quite a while to gear up a new ship and the leveling is so fast now that you don't find much useful gear while leveling. If I could send extra salvage from my fed character to my Klingon character I would but until that happens I am stuck with what my Klingon has which means running more missions to get better equipment or crafting better equipment.

Tips for dealing with Rebecca: Get a decent armor and shield, bring a long range weapon (or 2), bring a remodulator (duh), use LARGE hypos and shield charges, don't stay close to another player unless you are behind a covershield and both know what to do, crouch and aim. I've seen all classes solo her on normal.

Do some of you people complaining ever play any other MMOs? PUGs are universally bad, thats MMO 101 stuff.
Not to mention most people who PUG are also probably trying to get gear so they will never be as well geared up as players in a guild who regularly STF, that right there lowers their efficiency greatly.

Im pretty sure WoW regularly has posts from Elitist Raiders regularly QQing about PUGs, so its not a level thing, its a human condition thing.

I pugged plenty of 5-man heroic instances during Cataclysm which was no snoozefest like WotLK. Guess what the difference was?

The key with Rebecca is having an engineer with a cover shield. All stand in the Southeast Platform. Put up the shield. When you turn "Blue" or targeted duck behind the cover shield. The spread out thing does not work. The hide by the door does not work. You need to bring your own cover. My fleet did this before they changed the STFs and used to do 3 or 4 infected a night. I still have a bunch of engines in my vault. That tactic is the same now with the ground.
