Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
Let me guess, the Bortas only gets one science console and now the shields will have to go there instaead of the Borg console.
How do you guys come up with this stuff?
it really is a shame that they've turned Captain Logan's gorgeous work into something as worthless as a steaming dog turd. this thing is nothing but the 25th century version of the titanic, and we all know what happened to that!
Geordi said it best in First Contact: "The Enterprise-E is the most advanced ship in the fleet, It should be on the front-lines."
Seeing as the Odyssey is supposedly the next best thing for the Federation, and their flag ship is based on the class, one would think the Odyssey Class should be suitable for a multitude of various roles, and perform "above and beyond" most other ships in the fleet.
With the current changes, the Odyssey is nothing more than a "Flying Brick", with an inclination towards being flown by Science players. It has virtually no use as a Combat vessel, and with it's status of being a Flying Brick, all it can really do is take a bunch of pounding from enemy ships. But with the sub-par turnrate of the design, it won't have a chance in hell, in returning fire.
I think the current version of the Odyssey and Bortas on Tribble may have reduced HP and turn rate. I can't remember what went live, so I am just summarizing below to be safe.
We have spent a lot of time thinking about what the final stats will be. The turn rate was a big issue. We honestly wanted to make it slower so they don't compete with existing ships. Instead, we decided to change the Boff seating a little
Here are some change coming:
Odyssesy:
HP: 42000
Turn: 5.5
BOff: Changed Ensign_Universal to an Ensign_Science
Now comes with Advanced Slipstream Drive (can stay active twice as long before shutting down, but has same recharge time and other stats like standard slipstream).
Are you serious? You made the turn rate, the characteristic everyone complained about and made it worse? Then, the one thing everyone praised, the flexibility of the universal Boff seats...you took half of it away? Finally, absolutely nothing we actually gave you feedback about or asked for (like changing that extra useless science slot to universal or EITHER of the other types for example), we got none of? I have no words for this level of pig-headed foolishness.
Don't worry, you've succeeded in your goal of making sure this ship won't compete with anything. I went from excited to use it, to not even going to touch it. With that awful seating layout, I can't imagine who would.
I think I can speak for everyone when I tell you how much we really appreciate how you and the Cryptic team have all gone out of your way to show us just how much you listen to, and care about, our input. You could have given us something special, but instead, you've given us so much more.
I was setting my ensign universal for bortas up for science but oh well LOL. I guess I'll just have to work around it since its being changed to engineering
The Odyssey is now just an exact clone of the Star Cruiser with a slower turn rate
They must be gearing these "flagships" for free players who they want to sell dilithium/=C-Store ships to (ie. people who will be trading up out of these ships) while those of us who have multiple C-Store ships have no incentive to use these.
Silver players who don't get a free ship at RA or VA and who haven't bought a C-Store ship. And it doesn't discourage them from buying one, does it?
ah...so what your saying is that this nerf is nothing but a cash grab because of all the freepers.......AWESOME another slap in the face to the paying player base that has kept this game afloat long enough to make it to the 2nd anniversary!
