This has to be the worse bunch of developers ever. What is the point of the feedback threads when all you do is follow the opposite of what people who bother to test and provide feedback say.
I think the current version of the Odyssey and Bortas on Tribble may have reduced HP and turn rate. I can't remember what went live, so I am just summarizing below to be safe.
We have spent a lot of time thinking about what the final stats will be. The turn rate was a big issue. We honestly wanted to make it slower so they don't compete with existing ships. Instead, we decided to change the Boff seating a little
Here are some change coming:
Odyssesy:
HP: 42000
Turn: 5.5
BOff: Changed Ensign_Universal to an Ensign_Science
Now comes with Advanced Slipstream Drive (can stay active twice as long before shutting down, but has same recharge time and other stats like standard slipstream)
Bortas:
HP: 43500
Turn: 5
BOff: Changed Ensign_Universal to an Ensign_Engineering
Everything else should remain the same.
We also are changing Engineering Shield HP and Shield Regen consoles to be Science consoles, and increasing the effectiveness of all science consoles by about 50%.
Im ok with most of that, save for the removal of the universal ensign slots. I would much rather have had tac officers in there for a tac team 1. With the way these things turn, they are going to need it to help keep their shields up against heavy fire.

Everyone praised the BoFF slots and you go and change the one good thing to same half assed lameness?
Everyone provided consistent feedback regarding turn rates and you go and nerf the turn rates even more in order not to compete with current ships? What the hell reasoning is this. These ships are supposed to compete with current ships they are flagships after all.Not some half assed anniversary trophy. If they are supposed to be trophies give them as skins and be done with it cause this is just one big epic failure as far as development goes.I rather not have this ship for free and pay for it be it with CPoints or dilithium than having this sorry excuse for ship rolling out and pretending to be a flagship.
And ridicilous not touching the console setups not even by a little after all this feedback.

Ok, like everything the stats may not be final based on feedback (hopefully, maybe). But what's the reason behind the "so they don't compete with existing ships"? It's like saying "We don't want these ships to be desirable to a lot of players". The exact opposite of what is seen when C-Store Ships are introduced.
Why?
Is it because CBS wants these flagships to be "uncommon" in STO (w/o you having to do a grab bag)?
Or is it because the flagships are "free" and if they had desirable stats it might lower C-Store & Dilithium purchases?
Or is it because there will be C-Store Variants with a better turn rate, universal BO slots and unique abilities?
Just FYI, It's probably not PR smart to answer my question so I'll understand if you don't. I'm aware that the Design The Next Enterprise Contest was a PR nightmare for you guys. But I think introducing the Next Enterprise (and Klingon counterpart) as undesirable ships will be just as bad with similar PR results.

What a joke. Don't think you've been reading the feedback properly (and that goes for the console change, too).

I'm just puzzling how, in 40 pages, only two people liked the ship and so the response is a nerf. I could maybe see the nerf if it came with a console at least or something but, as-is, it's as if two out of ten people thought it was okay and that was too many.
I don't get it.
Sometimes, it's as if you test us to see how you can get unfavorable reactions. That's iffy. I get the value but if you were a scholar, you'd have to jump through hoops to justify testing people's reactions under the pretenses of having them test a product. There are universities that would throw out your findings if that's the methodology here.
I'm not personally offended but I am somewhere between disappointed and baffled.
