I patched up and took a few pictures of the Odyssey Bridge:

There are aspects of this bridge that work, I love the XL viewscreen, the Odyssey MSD looks fantastic, and I kind of like the fancy Galaxy-esque railing around the back of the command area, it's a nice shout out. The standing consoles behind the railing also look rather nice.

But the bridge suffers from two major flaws. One: it's simply far too massive, even given the concession most MMO's have to make due to camera issues. Granted, the Star Cruiser bridges are all very large, but this bridge is downright cavernous.

And two: Not only are the generic consoles not that great looking, but they also look completely different from the rest of the bridge. Look at the clean, clear LCARS displays all around the bridge, on the Odyssey MSD, and the standing displays, and then look at the consoles in the main command area.

I for one like the general aesthetic of the Odyssey Bridge, but a general reduction in size while keeping the same general shape and design, and some sleeker consoles that actually match the far better looking LCARS graphics, could do wonders. (Maybe styled similarly to the railing behind the command area?)

This is the Enterprise's bridge, It was shown to be so in the F2P trailer, the Ent-F's registry is clearly visible on the Odyssey class whose bridge the camera zooms out of. I do, however, appreciate that it isn't nearly as busy as the other Star Cruiser bridges.

But you remove those (as they did here) and there's just a lot of empty floor and ceiling.

I'd much prefer something like the Prometheus getting retouched as the only things here that say "Enterprise" to me are the three chairs and tactical station railing. It's a bit too much like "Enterprise-D meets Land of the Giants" for me whereas the Prometheus has a lot of touches that feel authentic to a classic Trek bridge.

I also think they went back to their toolbox of blues and greys when every Enterprise bridge has had some really regal red or earthtone notes laced throughout that gave them a feeling of warmth.

I think the "Federation is BLUE!"/"Klingons are RED!" schtick in STO takes it way too far and winds up feeling a bit juvenile or at least overly reliant on the colors to carry the setting without adequately trusting the geometry and composition to carry that feel.
I'm sure they'll do a proper Enterprise bridge that we'll get to see from time to time as a set in FEs. This however feels like a rushed together 'we need a new bridge just because' sort of situation. Interiors as a whole need to be redone, they themselves have said this. The Constitution-class interior pack was supposed to be a proof of concept so that they could determine if realistic interiors were a possibility or not. This is the first new interior since the release of the Connie pack and they're back to the tried and failed cavernous interior spaces of season 1.

If they are really going to be going for the titanic feel of an interior compartment, the least they could do would be to include more consoles, make it seem like a proper working environment. Draw the three command seats closer together, and draw the helm / ops / tactical consoles toward the command chair.

I like the larger view screen though.

Thanks for posting the video, Leviathan. I can see why folks are so disappointed. That seems to be the norm for Cryptic these days. Dumb down the STFs, dumb down the skill points panels, dumb down ESD.... and turn this into RvB. :/

The Yamato and Enterprise were referred to as "sister ships", so those two were meant to be identical. However the Odyssey, and likely the others in the class, did look different.

I don't think this is the bridge from the trailer. This looks more like a bridge taken from the Intrepid / Science ship free packs.

The blue LCARS wouldn't bother me so much on this bridge if the overall colour scheme were red and gold. It'd offset the dreary and cold feeling this set has.

I must point out, Cryptic did all that for the F2Pers, who generally aren't hardcore gamers, and therefore wouldn't be used to the level of difficulty

the general feel of the ship seems alright but its soo out of scale. i get the idea of cryptic trying to give the player the feeling of the ship being immense in size and something special but its a bit to big

I am probably going to end up using the TOS interior with the Odyssey due to the default's massive size. I love the little command area and huge screen, but cant stand the massive area around the back or those goofy looking "tables". Also, it's way too blue.
