A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I solved it on my BoP by buying a bunch of Camel back drink systems for every crew member. Unfortunately they filled them all with the Klingon version of Vodka, so now I can never tell if they are drunk or just stupid.........

My crew knows that Alcohol abuse on my ships will not be tolerated. Spilling is abuse, & those who break this rule will be stranded on an asteroid.

Ice is an abuse as well becuase it is a passive alcohol debuffing agent.
back to the thread though. I found the ships balanced as the Odysses was able to sustain fire effectively and tank very well to survive the slightly better firepower of the BortaS and overcome its tanking ability.
As with any ship the experience of the puilot and the build being used is the major factor in its gameplay effectivness.
Ran into a 2 BortaS versus 3 Odysses in tribble this past weekend and found the same conclusion. In a general build , under a moderate experienced captain these vessels perform the same in respect to each other regardless of the Tac console debate.
They are as they appear to be thick, tanky gunboats, one with a pechant for DPSand engineering the other with a better engineering and science feel to it. Both where equal in effectiveness in combat.
Though a highly experienced PvPer will be able to make iether one work very well to its strengths, niether is OP by any means.
hm sounds balanced to me, when 2 bortas counter 3 odyssey class ships ...
The Jem'Hadar is not "OP". I went back to my defiant, since the bug is just a fleet escort, with fewer crew, and one less sci console. Universal LT's don't give you much over the fleet escort. The best build I came up with was essentially a clone of my fleet escort. A bit tanky, yes, but the crew make it less so than the fleet escort. Turn rate is a bit better.

It's a fleet escort with more turnrate and hull than any other fed escort with 414 console configuration. Of course it's OP.
Crew does **** all.
I highly disagree sir, some of the best intoxicating pleasures are of the "slushy" configuration...
By design where the Debuffing effect can be harnessed to the benefit of the concoction only.
Speaking of which, I will need many such concoctions Thrusday the 2nd to get through the big flagship unvieling....... woo hoo...... We KDF get a big slow negh'var.
