I doubt any drama has unfolded. CBS guy just told Rademaker they'd get his ships into the game, but they apparently haven't drawn up all the stuff they need to before giving Cryptic the 'official' ok. So it's in the pipeline, so to speak. Which is more than could be said when it was just devs chatting with Rademaker about possibilities.
While I like his designs, and I think this is a good first step I think there are some issues to hammer out... and this process will take time
I doubt that Cryptic will let any outside party dictate what a ship should be.. if they get the rights to the designs I'm sure they will implement them as they see best in the ship charts, and assign them abilities based on tier and balance. I'm not sure how well that will sit with Mark. but this is a good first step to getting some new designs in game.
Also while I like his designs let me just qualify that I love Capt. Logan's designs and wouldn't want to see Marks work come at the expense of ships on Logan's design schedule.
