# 1 Gearing Up for Noobs!
02-07-2012, 10:50 AM
Can any of the vets recommend good Missions, and/or places to farm for fresh 50s to gear up for STFs.
A list of mission and gear would be quite helpful I am sure to many players both new (to have better gear) and old (so new people are not having to be carried as hard) Thanks.

You def. need the Assimilated Console from Assimilation (Undine Front). Aside from that, look for a decent fitting/ground loadout guide (like this if you're an escort and the guides linked here in general) and figure out what you need to do to match that fit as best you can. The big problem you're going to run into is that you get the majority of the preferred STF gear from running STFs so at some point you're just going to have to start doing normals - just make sure the stuff you do have is as good as reasonably possible, keeping in mind you'll be replacing a lot of it fairly quickly.

FWIW regarding that escort guide, I did well enough in normals with a Paratrinic before I got the Borg and MACO shields, if the crafting/ec grind for the Aegis looks scary.

If you are playing normal STFs, regular mark X's will suffice. Even mark IX for some things will be fine. Once you start running them, you will get 'rare borg salvage' as some of your drops. You can save these and turn them in for purple mark XI [Borg] gear. See link in my sig. There's a section on gear.

Have you ever heard of punctuation? That's the art of turning what you type into something readable.

On Topic:

I'd recommend the Breen mission replays to get the Breen set for your ship. Couple that with the Reman shields from one of the Cloaked Intentions series, and you have a fairly decent set to start STFs with.

Weapons, I'm not so sure on. I usually end up with the Breen Transphasic Torpedo, and a bunch of crafted guns. Decent enough to get you started on the STF road.
