Assuming all along that the Keldon would be T5; what does this all mean for the potential future Cardassian faction? That question I would hope should have been asked internally during design discussion...

Thinking about the new weaponry that comes with this Galor I'm now guessing that we may see Phased polaron beams as rewards during the new FE series; which would be pretty cool.
that upper deck stuff added to the keldorn might just be spy related hardware and doesn't make the ships necessarily more powerful, even though its a high level npc in game.

releasing all these ships that should be trueway faction is troubling, its like they intend never to make them a faction. you dont see any romulan ships released for player use, thankfully.

it would be interesting to see if cryptic goes the direction of having the dominion phased polaron be different then the player use polaron. on the revamped jem hadar ground units, their weapons now fire a more canon accurate blueish purple instead of the deep purple players have access too, wonder if the ships will get a change like that too, and maybe a shield penetrating proc

Closer stats to sci.

The bonus is straight up a cross between sci and escort.

A sci ship could have no sci consoles or BO slots in theory.

This is primed for subsystem targeting and looks to handle like a sci-ship, ignoring consoles and stations.

So you'll be happy when the T5 Connie grab bag launches. Gotcha.

An advantage that 99% of everyone playing the game, can never hope to get.
Turning NPC ships into playable ships requires no art time, and they clearly are not spending time balancing the ships

I hope the npc cardys have this ship replace the old galors that they currently use.

About the whole other race ships playable for chance, well i do not like it and i might write a letter to cbs about it i dunno because i do love the galor design and have the holoemitter device for it but i dont like that it runs out and soon for me. So having players have a full time galor and i dont because of chance or any other races cool ship that ppl enjoyed from the shows is a bit of a kick to the nads imo.

I know why they want to do this because its a brilliant idea to get money but when does money compromise the games fan base and lore and cannon and such things well thats something cryptic will have to think about if they want to have money or want to remain loyal to trek as in not letting the player base be divided because of a unique playable ship which cannot be earned ingame.

One way to earn it ingame i would have thought would be the doff system with a extremely hard espionage mission which can steal it (not specifically this one but one of the rare ships from other races) therefore you get one that way and u need all very rare boffs and go through a series of say 3-4 doff mission progression to be in with a chance of stealing one. Then even if you get one through the doff series of missions you probs should get it in a damaged state so more doff missions to repair it for example too. Would make it extremely hard and long to get with the mission not appearing very often so that is one way imo to get these ships.

And keep the cstore to stuff like xp boosts and services not ships which im not really keen on these +1 ships or any ship needing to spend money on it.

Am I the only one that has a hard time believing CBS would care about Galors being in players' hands? I've never heard of a company saying "Yeah you can put them in the game, but only if a few people can have one!" Especially considering it's randomly generated data and the number to be released is still potentially limitless... I thought that sounded kind of loony when they released the bugship, but even more so now. It's a fairly common ship in Trekdom..

It sounds more like a marketing ploy to me. Like in Heroes in the Sky, when they'd release a new prem plane, they'd make you buy the boxes they came in AND the keys to open the boxes, and the plane in the box would be of random level..Sure you could buy the plane outright, for $20.00, at level 1, and spend $100.00 bringing it up to par with high-level planes..

What I'm getting at is this marketing system isn't new or unique and I seriously doubt it has anything to do with CBS. CBS has bigger issues to worry about then how many Galors are floating around a back-water MMO...

It's also kind of funny that a ship a Nebula could take without thinking about it is this OP.

The worst part about this tho, is I see this becoming a standard method of getting new ships in the game.

We finally get the Steamrunner? Lucky box!
We finally get the Norway? Lucky box!
The much-wanted tier 5 Akira? Lucky box!!

how wrong you are. a few weeks ago logan posted the revamped galor on his twitter, before that the revamped bug ship, and he made from scratch all the gorn, orian and nassican ships. all of these formerly npc ships were upgraded befor being made into player ships. the npc ships are not high enough quality for player use
