Well those got my appetite for DS9 to come back makes me want to see the series again. Fortunately I have the whole series. Time to start watching again.
People argue that in Trek fighters wouldn't work as they wouldn't pack enough punch to get through a ships shields to do any damage, yet in that entire fight I don't think I saw shields flash even once. and the opening shots by the feds was to sic the peregrine "fighters" (yes they are more like heavy shuttles due to size) on the cardie ships, and they did some decent damage to their targets
As someone who just started playing STO last week, I must say that I'm glad the game is continuing the canon of the series as a whole. I had imagined that outside of the events already happening in the series, the game would do its own thing. That being, in the case of this FE, we'd never have heard from the 2800 ever again as the show would have been the last time we saw them ever and would never use any plot element left behind from any of the shows.
I'm happy to see that, officially or not, they're continuing using plot elements from the shows. Makes me smile as a mild Trekkie.
The FX on the shields would have killed the budget on the show, especially for all those ships involved.
So, as per usual, they took a shortcut.

Just to prep you all for the epicness that was the plot that lead to this FE
Awesome, your awesome for posting those links.
I have a question though, does the new FE correspond to the order of missions in the mission log. Since the changes you have to do the missions in order. I have a VA that haven't done any of the Captain level Cardassian/Dominion True Way missions.
I hope this does not effect my ability to play the new FE. What level must I be to do them? and do I have to do all other missions in chronological order, in order for me to play the new FE themselves?
