While she may be a thing of beauty, I have to say I was a little disappointed when I got my Odyssey. As far as I can tell, it's a standard Star Cruiser with an extra 3000 health. Is that all? With all the excitement over the ship in the last few months I was expecting something special, maybe a Lt Universal station or just something to make it different to what is already in game.

Is the 3k health the only difference or am I missing something?

Can you decide to use ltc commander tac or sci powers in a star cruiser?

Its not the +1 variant, but it ain't the slow-witted cousin iether. A good build can make it potent.

If you're after a DPS Cruiser with the maneuverability, stay in the Excelsior, it still is the king of the DPS Cruisers for Feddy side. The Odessey is a very good support ship tho but anything past that is pretty doubtfull. My fleet and I tested a few builds out yet but compared to the Excelsior it's pretty low DPS.

It looks pretty tho...

I like this ship, at least for now. Good tanking, a Uni console to place another tact boff, one more wp than my Advanced Escort....but Im a tactical, and i always used escorts, so the only things that bothers my of this ship is that is sloooooow...at least for something like me (alwas escort type)...and i miss my dual cannons.

I been trying it out on the STFs for now, at least for now i never died, and i can make alot of damage too.

So for me is a nice ship.

Benefits of the Odyssey over a standard star cruiser
+10 power to shields and Auxiliary
1.15 Shield Modifier
42000 base hull
Lt Cdr Universal slot

Downsides
No buff to weapon or engine power
Turn rate of 6

My Odyssey doesn't have a Universal Boff slot.

And I'm not looking for advice on whether this is good for Tacticals or not. I was simply stating that for all the hullabaloo about the Odyssey class, it's a little disappointing in the fact that it's just a normal Star Cruiser from what I can see with the exception of the extra 3k Hull points.
