Okay So as the title says this is about the Multi-Vector Assault Escort you can purchase with c-points.

It plays just like the normal Prometheus class, until you press one of three buttons. The separation sequence looks cool as hell and about those three buttons I mentioned, each one allows you to control a different section of the ship. Each section has it's own bonus and disadvantage. For example one section gives you a plus to weapons power, but a slight reduction in speed. I've played will all three sections in various game modes and all I can say is wow. Just whatever you do, don't use the MVAM on the Crystalline Entity PVE. The other two sections just end up being play toys for the shards to kill.

Now for the 1 downfall the ship does have. Three Tac stations sounds like heaven, but it's hell if you're not using beams or torps. I prefer the bombardment of turrets and their 360% badassary. Problem with the three tac stations is Tac team 1 is really the only ensign buff to use unless you're using beams or torps. Hopefully they'll add more bridge officer skills and this will change in time.

Personally I would have greatly preferred a universal station over the three tac stations and in fact I've only been running with two or the three and doing fine. It also should have had an advanced transwarp come standard, but not as a console. Being able to only transwarp to earth spacedock in one of the most advanced starfleet designs is kind of embarassing and can be annoying at times.

PS: Don't waste the EC on the Definant Bridge or the other variations of that one yet because there is a bug where the carpet is loading as a two tone tan, but the walls are loading with the proper texture.

You can use the console on the non-cstore version with has a bit better BO layout.

Personally, I prefer the MVAE BOFF layout, and I'll tell you why: LCDR Science station gives access to Gravity Well.

My tac skills are as follows:

Tac Team 1, Tac Team 1, Torp Spread 2, Torp Spread 2, Cannon: Scatter 2, Cannon: Scatter 3, Cannon: Rapid 3.

Two full rounds of Tac Team, Scatter, and Torp Spread means you can use all three every 15 seconds, and in an STF against multiple opponents, it's VERY effective. Then you have Rapid Fire 3, which is very effective against the times when you have single targets.

I use all Phaser cannons (I have the Quads), and a single Q Torp in front. I'll tear through anything... usually in seconds (Except cubes).

A made a post on the Escort STF thread asking a few questions ( im a returning noob), I am considering getting one of the premium escorts and do favour the MVAC but i would like to know more about what situations you use the MVAC function and where you definitely shouldnt. Also what happens when one of the sections dies?

Just trying to talk talk myself out of the MVAC and frankly struggling i fail to see the advantges of the defiant retro version except for cloak, and that isnt enough to make me get it, yet it seems much more popular than the MVAC.

I use Multi-Vector mode against multiple ships of any kind, but NEVER against Cubes, Tac Cubes, or Gateways. Also very handy in PvP at times. You'll have to figure out where it works best for you.

I to prefer the LTcmdr Sci for GW. I generally use Mvae mode as much as possible. It's not really about the other 2 sections (their Attack Patterns and phaser/torps help a bit) but they usually end up dieing in a cube blow or somesuch. It's more aabout the section you currently are running, it has every weapon on it. manuvers like a defiant (especially a or b commands) and all the FP, Gamma command I usually use when I want to use a powerfull GW (in combo with aux bat) is quite effective in STF's.

I just got mine and I clearly see the perks

First off: Bofficer loadout.

As a Tac, I need Tac officers, they enhance what I do (deal damage!). 3 tac stations is great.

Also, I find each of the sections has its own power:

Alpha section is built to tank/draw attention/be awesome in general with its power to all systems and beam fire at will

Beta section is the strike section, its the only one that comes with cannons. It also packs Cannon Scatter.

Gamma section carries debuffs you may be missing out on if you run Boffs with torp/cannon cooldowns in mind. It packs Target weapons and Shields II, as well as Attack pattern Beta II.

Then add to the fact you launch two of any of these sections at one time, while keeping all your weapons and abilities for a slight hull hit. It's practically a one-man fleet if used right.

I put that all into my calculator and it makes a smiley face.
