# 1 2 new NPC Klingon ships?

Just as a thought, forgive me if this has been brought up before:

This game could benefit from 2 new NPC Klingon ships. I'm sure you've all seen the Drex files and so forth. In fact I saw this before I ever knew about this game.

Klingon cargo ships and Klingon tankers. It would make missions a bit more interesting. Federation raiders/attackers? Protect the convoy? Save the ships being attacked by Orions, etc.

It opens up future possibilities.

Hello, but which is the 2nd?
You said 2 NPC ships.

Anyway we know what Klingon cargo ships in the "modern" era look like and it's not the old buckets from "Enterprise":

But if you really wish to go with an actual cargo ship from that era (and not a battlecruiser with large barrels under its belly), might I suggest this model?

it was not exactly big, but with an adjusted scale it would probably work.

For some reason Cryptic has decided that all freighters in this game must look alike.
Even though we know the Cardassians and Klingons appearently used the same design, with the Klingon larger by a factor of 2 in all dimensions (meaning 8 times it volume), it's a bit odd the Feds do as well.
Maybe the ships are all produced by ACME...or maybe, given the rushed way the game was put out ,they never bothered to make any more models.

The Sydney class from "Relics"

or the Whorfin from Star Trek 7

(maybe with a cargo pod attached to the bottom) would make a good freighter for the Feds with the current model used by the Cardassians and the Klingon one replaced by one of those posted here. /END OFF-TOPIC RANT**

Anyway, I like your idea about defense missions.
We already have the opposite with the Pi Canis Raids, why not escort missions for freighters from the Homeworld to the front?
Ganalda is our jump-off point into enemy space.
It must be supplied at all times.

1) Cargo
2) Tanker

2 variations of the same

You do have a point, though, about the "newer" ships... Though I think the only reason they use the same is because the show FX guys got lazy and recycled a lot (that's the real reason you see excelsiors and mirandas in the DS9 showdowns) and then they fill in a back story to justify it lol

Still, I'm not complaining. Whatever they look like, it would add a couple of dimensions to the game.

Freighting could add such a large immersion to the economic system as well as gameplay.
