Point Defense also came with my pre-oreder of the deluxe at gamestop and the tactical console comes with steam pre-oreder i got both =).
That could very well be it.

One of them should be Universal. The other is a fixed Tactical.
But really, how detrimental could it be? With diminishing returns on damage-boosting consoles, the extra turret may actually provide more damage.
1) you might do better with 4 single cannons and 4 turrets.
2) yes, you can mount the Thunderchild PDC now
3) the other point defense cannon will not shoot at enemy ships, it will shoot ONLY at enemy mines, targetable projectiles and fighters,
Hence "9" turrets is it. That said, I think the PDC and the othe folder point defense console don't drain from main power...not sure on that....

This is what you use to bring it up to 10, not the otherPFC which only targets mines and such:
As for turrets and escorts, my observation is that it increases your initial burst damage.
The goal then becomes to kill your first target on an initial pass before turning and only turn after having exhausted all shield heals' cooldowns.
Turrets are great for an escort that plays chicken, in my experience. I would like to understand why they're so heavily discouraged as turrets are the only rear weapon that adds to your initial forward assault damage. If the goal is to kill an enemy before turning, how could anything beat a turret as a rear mounted weapon?
This fails to show how to bring your ship up to "10 turrets", because even if you did mount two of those, you can only fire one at a time as they share a cooldown...
