# 1 A "2800" Question
02-14-2012, 05:06 PM
Is it me or does it seem rather strange that the Klingon Empire would send a Gorn to be their representative to the conference on DS9? I know that the Gorn Hedgemony is now a part of the Empire. But, I can't imagine the High Council would send a non Klingon(much less a Gorn) to speak on their behalf. Does anyone else find that peculiar or am I just nitpicking?

Not just any gorn. no. If I remember right from the needs of the many ( the official star trek book ) that gorn was the leader of the Gorn Hegemony. I will have to go back and look at the baseball chapter in that book to make sure.

Possibly. But then it backfired on them because the Gorn pledged the Empire's support in the matter.

I never read that so I can't dismiss that notion out of hand.

Its like saying why the Federation would send a Bolian or a Trill to represent them. The Klingon Empire is now multi-racial. They have no reason to discriminate. If a Gorn has skills as a diplomat, a Gorn can be a diplomat. It would be highly prejudiced if they only let certain races represent the greater Empire.
