# 1 NPC ships spawning in PvP?

In some PvP matches, I've seen half a dozen top-tier NPC ships spawn for the enemy team. How are they doing that?

One more question, in a ground-based PvP came I encountered a player that was so bloody difficult to kill. In the end it took 5 us to take down the one guy by having him constantly incapacitated because the second he was free he was heal himself to full. How the hell does he do that? I'd be running around with my Mark XI, very rare pulsewave rifle, blasting him, getting tons of flank damage on him, and he'd just ignore me. Then he'd turn around and 3-shot me when I have XI armour (energy/kinetic resis.) and shields. I have the best engineer abilities I can find. I'm lost, I don't know how to combat someone like him.

There are a few causes for this.

You could be seeing captains hitting their Call fleet support power which brings in one or two ships to fight for them.

It could also be Photonic fleet which causes two of the same ship to apear as holograms

finally if your playing a fed chances are you are fighting a carrier in the match with you.

Its a spawn tatic because STO has such a crap targeting system players in Vice Admeral will spawn, fighters, mines, extra ships and now turrents.

This lags down the system and makes it impossable score kills. In fact I have picked up rank 11 gear just by shooting crap.

Its destroyed PVP at Vice admeral level it just pointless.

So its perfectly normal.

PVP has been revised 2 times it up for it 3rd revision this year.

When it comes to PVP cryptic is clueless they just went big and created this huge 10 on 10 furball

This is case where smaller is better.

There is a system in play were you can challenge friends and fleet members or other ships it gives you a little more control.

All you have to do is select the ship right click and challenge.

Your general idea is correct but your information is wrong.

Photonic Fleet calls in 3 Holographic ships which can be Escorts, Cruisers, or Science ships of your faction. Basically some mix of any available for your level.

Fleet Support calls in One ship that is real of the appropriate faction which can be a Frigate, Escort, Science, or Cruiser.

there is an option in the menu so you only target enemy ships with the tab key.

the spam can be targeted manually if needs be.

Spam? No problem *hits "beam fire at will" key on LCARs*

Pew pew pew and no more spam.

After that I will counterspam them with mines (full dispersal pattern no less), torpedoes, assault shuttles and fighters and a cute little plasma torpedo satellite turret.

It adds to the fun, rather than SFC2 style where it's one ship, maybe some not-very-useful fighters and nothing else.

@ The OP, Iím guilty as charge in my Nebula Class Science Cruiser, Typically it takes two or three Klingon Escorts to kill me, not quickly either, as my character build is no less than a nearly pure Tank build, as I usually play as a Fleet support strike cruiser running with double torpedoes and two High Yield Torpedo skills on my Tactical officer. Time it just right, and you can fire a good seven to eight Torpedoís at a single target. Good times! :p

One time I and this Klingon Escort went head to head about 100k away from everyone else in Kerrat. We couldnít kill each-other; finally we just sat there, head to head talking in private chat as the battle between us wasnít going anywhere as he was heavy damage and no real heal and I was heavy heal and no real damage. It was rather amusing.
