Why is it that all the starships prior to Vice Admiral Rank dont level up with your character? Personally I would REALLY love to be able to use the C-point version of the Nova Class Science Vessel, aka the Rhode Island and the other Nova Class Variants. Such a thing would get more people to play cause then they can adventure amidst the stars as their favorite ships and would never have to worry about using a ship they dont like because as you level your ship will gain weapon, Engineering, Tactical, Science and Device slots that are proper for their ship classification, come on Cryptic please do this for us

They don't want to. And CBS doesn't want to see T5 Constitutions and Mirandas. They prefer bugships and Galors in Starfleet and the KDF.......

surely they could put restrictions on what ships can level up and how far they can so that way you are not making your way through ships like candy. i mean like the Miranda for example let it level up to T3 and the Sabre as well along with the Nova. i mean how hard can it be.
Also on the bugship thing i havent really seen that many people fly them i think i have seen one Galor and about 8 Jem Hadar ships since they were released on the game

The entire tier system needs to be scrapped. Instead they need to do a volume system. No matter how much I up grade my Connie it only has so much volume inside the Hull which would limit the amount of stuff you can add. It would mean that I could add a little bit as we go but eventually would reach a point where we could not add any more. Then it would be a m atter of skills, crew quality and strength of electronics to get you to fighting trim.

This would get most ships viable at admiral while still allowing the sovie captain to have a bigger more powerful ship. This would also mean that when said Soviet got its butt handed to it by a Connie it would be purely on the merit of the Connie captains skill not the fact he is in a ship incapable of even fighting at that level.

I agree with Rayvenwing. That would increase the customization and personalization as well.

That is because they just exploded.... Again.

Now, as for the topic, I have always wondered why the Captain's Ready Room doesn't have a private bathroom.

I've always thought it would be easier just to upgrade the BO slots and talents. There isn't any reason why if you put yourself into a lower tier starship that your BOs automatically get dumber at the controls.

As far as weapons and so forth, I think would be silly to see a Connie have a whole bunch of phaser arrays. On the other hand though, a Connie with more BO powers could still survive quite well in PvE.

This was something I always appreciated about Mass Effect 2's Captain's Quarters. I mean, a man/woman';s gotta go sometime.

I've had similar ideas, however, my idea for a revamp would include some new ship equipment, including a warp core and computer core, which would be used to determine how many weapon systems and how many consoles a ship can have. That way when you got a new rank, you'd upgrade the 2 cores and you'd be able to equip more weapons and consoles. Due to the nature of some ships, they'd only be upgradable so far, (3 tiers), so yes, you'd be able to fly a Nova at endgame, but it wouldn't be upgradable to T5 standards, it would be close, so people could happily fly them though.

The warpcore and computer cores would come in various flavours too, warpcore would have bonuses to certain ship system (ie plus weapon power) so depending on your playstyle, you'd look for certain warp cores. The same goes for computer cores, they'd offer various console setups (would also effect BO setup), the idea being that players would have far superior choices and flexability. It's worth noting that the T.5 C-store ships would come with better warpcores and computer cores (to make them viable still).

The other addition would be that the 3 ship types (cruiser, science, escort) would have an extra slot for thier specalisation, for example, Cruisers would have 2 sheild slots (the secondary shield is half as effective as its base stats), Science ships would get a secondary deflector (again halfas effective) and escorts would get an extra engine. This would help set the ships aprt more.

Overall, these changes would actually leave most ships very similar to how they are now (with more console diversity), it would allow the devs to have some fun with new itemisation, but more importantly it would let players use thier favorite ships for longer. I'd probably argue that the Tier 0 ships should only be upgradable by 1-2 tiers tops, maybe due to thier systems been unable to hanle modern compter and ware cores or other some such treknobabble :-)

That is a nice idea you have there, Suricata. I could happily go for something along those lines.

There is a rest room on the bridge level, it is just on the opposite side of the captain's ready room. With all of that tea and coffee they are drinking, they probably have to make frequent trips back and forth across the bridge. I bet the junior officers talk....
