Having the issue also same deal as DS9 except now it follows you. Changing my xonar settings to 6 channels stops it but I'd prefer to use 8 channels

It seems to be relatet to 7.1 headsets and is already recognized by the devs from DS9 http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...d.php?t=251687.

For now as I said wiping and reinstalling my soundcard driver solved the problem for me. No buzzing anymore, at least for now...

Started on DS9 for me the first time after the last patch dissapeared and came back with the feature episode...

Same thing here, G930 Headset, Win7 64bit, Started on Bajor after I completed the argument mission. Persists after I leave the planet.

Exact same issue here also. No headset using Creative 7.1 surround speaker system through realtek alc 888 on board sound. Have latest driver installed. DS9 is ok but Bajor right at that tree sounds like DS9 now. Once the buzzing start i have to exit out of the game completely to get it to stop. This is the second time that whom ever is in charge of sound has botched the job. I sure hope this is not causing damage to either my sound card or speaker system!

Well I went into control panel/ sound and dumbed my system down to 5.1 and the buzz is gone. This will have to do i guess until Cryptic get on the ball and fixes their issue.

I have 7.1 megalodons, with astoundsound and dfx enabled, i recently updated my video drivers from the beta to RC295.73 for nvidia, will keep a check in areas as I go but so far I'm not gettin the buzzing. I did have it before in some areas, but I was testing different setups with my headset to see what it was, so far like I said I updated my drivers and its fine.

I hope they will root it out and fix it once and for all. This doesn't bode well for the rest of the FEs in this arc. I've got 7 toons I need to run and can't.

I was hoping for a fix with the latest patch (2/23/2012). I'm sad that they didn't take care of it.

Well seems everyone is practicly using USB Based headsets is having this horrible buzzing noise, but im no,
i Use a Xonar D2 which is a 7.1 surround, So i do agree with the person that mentioned 7.1 sound problems,
this isnt isolated to usb headsets saddly =(
