Looking forward to it. Wonder how I'll divide my consoles with the new cloaking device. Perhaps I'll have to start thinking about moving to the Omega set instead of the borg console +engine/deflector with the maco shield. I love the borg set though. That healing proc seems massively overpowered. I didn't expect items to matter that much.
I would say the setup you have now is the way too go...

EPS unit - Neut Armour - Cloak Unit
Field Gen - Borg Unit
4 of Weapon Type

I know the devs are now saying field gens are intended to stack so ya that makes things silly but you could use another one of those instead of the neut or eps I guess.

^What Husanak said. In my Complaint, I run:

ENG: RCS, Neutronium, EPS Flow Regulator (sometimes I swap the RCS with a second Neutronium)
SCI: Assimilated Module, Cloaking Device
Tactical: Energy Specific Console x3, Warhead Yield Chamber (sometimes the Torp is swapped with a 4th Energy console)

Then again I tend to get popped a lot.

Did you find the link that disproves my comment?

Because, I have yet to see someone say to the contrary.

I have a Scicen officer for the Federation and was thinking of gathering enough dilithium to purchase an Advanced Escort. How should I build it?

Keep in mind I do plan on buying more officer slots.

Here's a couple good basic Ideas.... I am sure a few more people could give you some more.

Basic Cannon Setup

Tac Team - Delta 1 - Rapid Fire 2 - Rapid Fire 3
Tac Team - Beta 1 - Omega 1
Emergency Power to Shields 1 - Aux to Damp 1
Hazards 1 (Or Polarized Hull 1) - Transfer Shield Strength 2
Tractor Beam 1

Dual Heavy Cannons x 4
Turrets x 3

I like aux to damp for the extra turn when you need it... will also make you immune to disables and repulses when its up.

Torpedo Setup

Tac Team - Delta 1 (or tac team 2) - Rapid Fire 2 - Rapid Fire 3
High Yield 1 (or Tac team 1) - High Yield 2 - Omega 1
Emergency Power to Shields 1 - Aux to Damp 1
Hazards 1 (Or Polarized Hull 1) - Transfer Shield Strength 2
Tractor Beam 1

3 DHC 1 Quantum Photon or mabey chron
3 turrets
4 Piece Borg would be nice for extra heals and a doubled up tractor-borg tractor combo every 4 min.

Almost the same just gives you a torp option for some extra burst Tractor + HY Torps (+ perhaps a couple torpedo doffs) could make for some very mean spike. If the doffs double proc you could end up spitting both HY patterns into someones hull if you time it right with tractor it should be an insta pop.

One note on Torp Patterns... if you use 2 of the same level of pattern you can't stack them. Meaning if you load say HY 2 and HY 2... when you fire your torp they both get used. (only one fires). If you load a HY 1 and a HY 2... for 15 seconds if you fire your torp twice they both get used... making for lots of torps.

A few ideas hope that helps a bit.

It does....I just need an extra ship because I'm getting a bit bored with my recon Science Vessel and I don't have the required skills to pull it off (No PSW3 yet, which is odd.)

Besides I fly a Qin Raptor with one of my Klingon characters and I like the Escort feel I get from the ship.

It just also sounds hilarious to sneak in Subnucleonic Beam under a hail of Cannon Fire.

Shockwave needs six points in something too train... don't remember off hand which one it is but if you look through em you should see it. Rapid Fire 3 your best bet is too ask in OrganizedPvP if someone can train if for you, I'm sure someone would be willing to bridge invite you for a min to help you out.

Raptor is almost the same boff layout... just ensign tac is traded for ensign sci. Ships are very close really, if you like the raptor you'll like the advanced.

Okay, as for Power levels, speed is needed for an escort along with Weapons. But if I boost up the Auxillary power with Auxillary Performace, the Captain's skill at the Admiral Tier of the tree, can I get away with not using a second setting for the sake of healing?

I would use one EPS unit also spec The electro plasma flow skill (think that's the right name).

This will allow you to switch between 2 settings.... another option that may work well is slotting an aux bat for your sensor scans.

I would run
100 25 50 25 Attack
25 25 50 100 Heal

Or there about you can tweek them too your taste of course... if you have efficient boffs and such you may want to play around with some settings just too see what drops too where and how fast ect.

I swap between full weapon engine and aux pretty often... mainly weapon and aux though. I use full aux for most of my heals... for using sensor scan though in the middle of a fight an aux bat won't drop your DPS when you switch.

My power settings.

Full Attack. 100 Guns, 50 shields, 25 engines, 25 aux. Usually I'm in Alpha or beta command already. At some point usually just as my alpha's finishing the shields I eat an aux battery and pop my cpb2.

Agility attack. 100 Guns, 35 shields, 40 Engines, 25 aux.
Tank Mode. 75 Guns, 75 Shields, 25, 25.
